Cardiff City boss Steve Morison told:

Mon Jan 31, 2022 7:20 am

Cardiff City boss Steve Morison told BBC Sport Wales:

"That was as a complete performance from start to finish.

"We had a game plan and the players carried it out. They did everything today that I asked them.

"We were excellent and I thought the players we have brought in really helped us.

"We have been overly reliant this season on academy players… they needed help and we have got that help in the building now.

"Now the younger players can grow at the right pace with not so much pressure on them."

I thought is was a good interview. Its clear he's had to play the hand he's been dealt. All these posters moaning about playing 5 at the back. It's now obvious to those that will see its a personnel problem and not tactics as some on here would have you believe.

Well some of us on here have been saying all season what Morison has just confirmed about the academy players yet we got accused of "knocking the club at the first opportunity". Sometimes I wish certain posters would look at the facts we give instead of jumping on that belittling culture they have.

Let's get back on track. If we do climb away from the relegation spots, it looking a lot more likely now with these new signings and recalls, then all credit should go to Morison. He had made it very clear that we needed experience coming in and I can just imagine him giving the board a telling off. Let's be honest here but if we still had MM we would have been stuck with this policy of bringing more academy players in as that is what he promised Tan he would do during his interview. It was fine for him to say that while we had the likes of Wilson and Ojo on board but it soon went pear shape as we got into the new season. Personally I feel MM managed his exit out when things started to go wrong but that's another debate.

Yes Ian, sorry you are always right. Well done.

Or even a broken clock is right twice a day.

So you said we would be lucky to avoid relegation. Are you now changing that prediction?

I feel more comfortable now with these additions plus the recalls. Good job we brought them in else yes we would have gone down.

We will never know.

I tend to agree though as didn’t know where goals were gonna come from.

But nothing to do with luck.

I’m glad Tan has stepped up. He needed to. Now to replace Dalman with Sam and we are cooking.
