Confirmed: Alfie Doughty joins Cardiff on loan until the end of the season. He will wear the No.18.

He is also available for tomorrow's game against Nottingham Forest.


Cardiff will pay 50% of Doughty’s wages.


The Stoke City man has operated at left-back and on the left wing for the Potters this term, making him the ideal candidate to provide competition for that left-back spot.

The 22-year-old has been limited to 11 substitute appearances in the Championship this term, so the move to Cardiff represents an opportunity for him to get more regular game-time under his belt.

Doughty was originally with Charlton who he then went to Kingstonian and then Bromley, Stoke signed him a year ago but he has failed to start for them.

Don’t think you can characterise the comment as having a fairly high opinion of him. More they have no idea what he is like as most of them have never seen him play. They are more confused as to why they signed him in the first place as they never seemed to want to play him.

No one really has a clue if he is any good or not. My guess from reading some of the comments is that he is very quick but not much end product otherwise he would have played much more for Stoke.

Had a good debut. Was a really solid defensively and a threat going forward in first half.

Couldnt make the game today. Maybe hopefully we have turn a corner and will start to win more than we lose. Personally Im more optimistic to see what happens when Morison has a full transfer window.
