The cross was over Hudson, and Matthews played Scotland on. If he'd stayed in line with Gyepes and Hudson there wouldn't have been a problem. Matthews fault. Nothing the other 2 could have done.

And why do you just accpet that Ipswich can get easy crosses inlike that ?

As soon as things goe against us you just know that you're going to see the same players getting blamed. There was not much in the game until Matthews heads a harmless cross in then he plays the boy onside for the second.

exactly you say the cross was over him.. but hudson had been man marking all game with gypes picking up the crosses...
and of course im looking for someone to blame... not everyone is playing shit.. but the rest are average at best..

No he wasn't Gyepes was marking Wickham with Hudson the spare (as he has been all season), Blake was picking up Scotland from the start.

This time Scotland had pushed on and Matthews was nearest. Its gone over Gyepes and Hudson and they expected him to be off, but matthews played him on. Down to Matthews to deal with him then, but no chance as he isn't strong enough.

I agree LM Matthews had a shocker - not only did he play Scotland on he headed the ball into his path as he ran on. If we're honest we can look at the whole defence and should be worried!!

Marshall - Good keeper at this level but prone to "a gaff a game"
Heaton - As above with a lot less experience
Naylor - Excellent addition to the squad
Geype - Average player at best in championship
Hudson - Average 1st Div player at best
McNaughton - Very good at this level but injury prone
Blake - Local lad but if we're honest a very average player at this level
Matthews - Nothing like as good as his early promise suggested
Quinn - Nowhere near good enough, 1st Div quality
Riggott - Unfit and injury prone but with potential to be excellent at this level

In summary we need a fit Riggott and an additional CB as IMO all of the above with the exception of Naylor and McNaughton are back up or squad players not first choice. The benefit of having such a strong attacking line up and variety of options is that we will be defending a lot less.............hopefully!! Roll on Millwall.......City 5 - 1 Millwalll

Not today gyepes was covering most of the game.
The ball travelled 30 yards with that distance a centre half should be attacking the ball or droping in.
Matthews was slow to react but a center half with hudsons experiance should be watching over him and doing the talking,also he should of reacted himself. the reason he didn't was he's slow and can't read the game, If he could our defence wouldn't be under that sort of presure.

That's a question only DJ can answer but here is a question maybe DJ should ask himself about his CD partnership, how can a 17 year old (Connor Wickham) who has not played a game since pre season, play 83 minutes at full tilt beating up our 2 "experienced" CB in the process.

All we here is our players who did not have a full pre season need time to get match fit, how have Ipswich got Connor Wickam fit enough to put in a performance like that.
