Mark Harris to Germany?

Sun Jan 02, 2022 2:28 pm

Found this story linking Mark Harris to St. Pauli in the 2nd Bundesleague... probably bollocks though

https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/cardi ... rman-club/

German club want Mark Harris

German second-tier club FC St Pauli are reportedly interested in signing Cardiff City and Wales forward Mark Harris.

The 23-year-old has had a breakthrough year after being introduced into the starting XI by Neil Harris a little over a year ago.

Harris was used regularly by Neil Harris, Mick McCarthy and now Steve Morison and has even earned three caps for the national side in recent months.

However, The Sun's Alan Nixon has claimed that St Pauli are interested in taking the Welshman this month.

When asked whether there was anything in the links, Bluebirds boss Steve Morison said: "No.

"I love these things. Where do they come from?

The guy failed in the national league, how he gets into a Championship side I don't know, and dont get me started on his Welsh call up.

Under any other regime, he gets released.

he needs to find his level play every week and improve. He may well be championship in a few seasons but he is not at the moment. Very few miles on the clock for his age.

Some of the car collector's cars don't get driven and stays low milage cos they simply not cool to drive. more than that, he knows the more it's driven the value goes down. Sometimes the car collector wants to show off his favourite cars all the time n not bothered bout milage (wtf am i talkin about) :ayatollah:

I wouldn't let him go to anyone at the moment. We haven't got better in the squad and I think he's a battler. Prefer him as an impact sub but worked hard all game I thought.

I don't know as I wasn't there, and the red button refused to work.

A striker though is judged over his career on goals. To say he has never been prolific does not even cover it.

Collins hasn't done it with us, but has proved he can over his career. The likes of Glombard, Redan were not given the annual plethora of chances Harris has had.

He's not a youngster learning his trade by the way either.

But I guess there are those who will say he's our future, and as much as I think he has been extremely lucky at Cardiff, others will think he's worthy of his place.

I think he'd be better in a 433.

He does work hard has a turn of pace but never seems to get into positions of a striker and with our system you need to make your own luck.

You didn't watch the game, yet singled him out after what was (for most watching) a decent performance from him?

Good performance from Harris yesterday. I think there's areas he can definitely work on, his decision making in the final third being his biggest weakness in my opinion but we need every battler and willing runner we have and Harris is definitely one of them, he plays with passion and heart.

He also has good movement, tidy finisher when through on goal and looks after the ball well with his back to goal.

With the position we are in hes a decent option upfront and I'd be starting him again against Blackburn.

He wasn't singled out after yesterday's performance. It is my personal overall assessment of the player.

I can't single put anyone as you say I didn't see the game. Everyone has those they don't rate and Harris is one of many in the squad who fall under that category.

In fact, and I guess this could even be a point for another thread, the only players I'd keep and rate in this current squad if we had a complete overall due to an influx of cash would be Moore, Smithies, Phillips, McGuiness, Giles, Ralls.

Harris is not good enough. He may well have had a decent game yesterday, but then There are times Bacuna has decent games.

I'm happy for him on a personal level, for his family & friends, he achieved the acolade of becoming an International footballer. Whether his talent/record warranted it, is open to debate.

I think we need his pace especially with Giles gone. We were also worse when he went off yesterday

I mean to be fair why else would he get in the squad?

Most of the Welsh squad are not international class. Our strength is in the team synergy.

At the moment I'm not convinced by Harris for us and I think he's way down the pecking order of youngsters compared to Davies, Evans, Bowen and Colwill.

However, the one note of optimism I have for him is that he has looked very good coming on for Wales recently so there is clearly some ability there.

Maybe he is another who would benefit from a loan move, I just don't think he's going to get enough of a run of games for us to make our mind up either way.

That's a great post and I accept that. Has to be a worry after Bale & Ramsey and even now it's a worry. So much quality in them and want the great times to continue :occasion5:
