MY VIEW / OPINION: CARDIFF CITY TONIGHT WITH A VIRTUALLY

Thu Dec 30, 2021 9:36 pm

MY VIEW / OPINION:

CARDIFF CITY TONIGHT WITH A VIRTUALLY INJURY FREE SQUAD PLAYED THE BEST TEAM MORISON HAS / BUT AGAINST LEADERS BOURNEMOUTH CITY CAME AWAY WITH NOTHING.

Bournemouth had only won one in their last seven games, despite being top.

The truth is we do not have that much quality in our squad, as Steve Morison stated this week the “League table does not lie.”

Steve Morison, usually starts with one new Academy player and tonight he chose none.

Cardiff now will be without Bacuna 3 match van & Kieffer Moore looks like he has injured his ankle.

Absolute lunacy from Bacuna to challenge high, from behind and at speed like that. Said straight away that was going to be a red. Easy decision for ref.

QUALITY IS WHAT BOURNEMOUTH HAD & TO BE BRUTALLY HONEST CARDIFF DO NOT.

Cardiff are now in a hell of a relegation battle and the Board need to back Morison and Strengthen this January.

First - half: First 25 mins Cardiff were end to end with Bournemouth :bluebird: Then Quality came through and Bournemouth looked the better side, Moore missed a couple of chances, but Bournemouth deserved their 1nil lead.
47th min Bacuna straight red, banned now 3 games

Second-half: Bournemouth we’re just easing their way around now. Predictable given their man advantage and difference in quality in squads. 3 nil and it could of been more, the win was to easy.

Hmmmm?

Mark Harris went off h-t replaced by Isaak Davies but then 24mins later
Isaak Davies off, Rubin Colwill came on???

BOURNEMOUTH 3 CARDIFF CITY 0
H-T 1-0
Crowd 8,942 Away Support (1,012)

Cardiff City: Smithies; Ng, McGuinness, Flint, Nelson, Giles; Bacuna, Vaulks, Ralls; Harris, Moore.

Subs: Phillips, Morrison, Brown, Pack, Colwill, Davies, Collins.

25th min: GOAL! Bournemouth 1-0 Cardiff City (Christie 25)

Goal. Christie's deflected shot beats Smithies.
The Scot hit a left-footed shot just outside the box and Mark McGuinness, who dived to put the block in, got a touch on it and it flew past Smithies.

27th min Mark Harris booked

45+2 - RED CARD

Bacuna sent off! A horrible challenge on Billing there, stopping him during a break down the middle of the pitch

H-T 1-0

Isaak Davies on for Mark Harris.

Harris just not good enough

59th min:
City were forced into a second change. Kieffer Moore could continue. Looks to be an issue with his ankle.

James Collins replaced him. (1-0)

68th min:
6- Solanke adds a second goal (2-0), slotted straight past Smitthies

74th min:
James Collins tries one from 30 yards and drags it at least 15 yards wide.

Isaak Davies off, Rubin Colwill on.

GOAL! Bournemouth 3-0 Cardiff City (Smithies OG 83)

Lerma hammers home. 3-0.

A corner falls to him and he hammers it into the underside of the bar and it comes down on to Smithies' back and goes in.

Dreadful night all round but we played ok in the first half apart from that unprofessional red card that killed us. I am glad this game is out of the way because staying up is based beating the teams around us not away against top of the league. Guaranteed defeat again at the weekend too (I am sorry but you are brave person to say anything else). We can then reset and hopefully freshen up the team in the window. Morison must also never play Bacuna again, if he does he can expect no support from me or any other City fan. Bacuna should be made to play with the 23s or loaned out.
