Eastenders vs Corronation St

I've been staying at my Mum's over Christmas, I don't hog the telly remote so am watching some her shows. I know all the characters and long-term plots from the main soaps as I used to watch them for a living when I done support work.

Anyways, I prefer Corrie and watched the Street celebrate with typical Northern humour.

I watched Eastenders tonight and was unaware they have a religious conversion ark, tonight 'Dana' said she wants to go to the mosque with Ian Beale's son who converted.

I looked into this, and this ark has been going right through Christmas. Here's an extract from the Metro dated from the 14th Dec:

EastEnders’ Dana Monroe (Barbara Smith) has recently become interested in converting to Islam, a move which has not gone down well with her racist, Islamophobic brother Aaron (Charlie Wernham).

Aaron is a member of a far-right gang which is actively plotting to make sure a new mosque in Walford doesn’t open.

We also know he was responsible for brutally attacking and putting a Muslim taxi driver in hospital, leaving Harvey horrified his son actions had potentially made the innocent man partially sighted.

His sister’s interest in Islam and her admission to their father Harvey (Ross Boatman) that converting is something she’s actively thinking about leaves Aaron absolutely seething – and drives him to more extreme Islamophobic acts.

When Dana tells Bobby (Clay Milner Russell) in an upcoming episode that she wants to learn more about the religion he’s keenly embraced, and that she wants to visit the mosque, the news is not going to go down well at all with Aaron.

How will he react?

We know he’s plotting something with his gang, could this see the start of his plan being put into place?


This is me now, i'm back talking/writing. I pose one question. Would the BBC would have the balls to convert a muslim to christianity during Ramadan.

I can't make my mind up on religion, but will stick up for people's rights, to put this on over Christian religious holiday is insensitive. Maybe I got this wrong and it don't matter. I really hate the BBC, biggest cowards ever!!

BBC wouldn't do the opposite conversion at any time of the year, we all know it. Christians now a BBC punching bag. Where's songs of praise production team when u need them to pop a few tyres on the BBC execs

Furthermore can't they just go back to gentler times when Seth used to prop up the bar at the Woolpack, one of the Tate's arm up a cow's backside for a Christmas special? That's entertainment.

Last word, it seems the ark is going full Romper Stomper reading what I copy and pasted. Extreme right nazi's smashing through Walford, they already done in a cab driver.

I'm done with making reversed comparisons of this situation in regards to the aforemention upcoming extremism. We all know BBC are cowards and i'm done funding them thank f*ck.
