Steve Morison's contract:

Steve Morison's contract:

I have been told unless Morison takes us above midd table this season, the Regime have No intentions of giving Morison a new contract come May??
But if they want a bigger name then they will 100% have to have money available .

The big talking point, of course, will be Steve Morison's contract.

The Bluebirds boss was appointed until the end of the season, but what happens then will likely be as a direct result of Cardiff's results in the intervening six months.

If the Bluebirds shoot up the league and show real signs that they are moving in the right direction, then Morison, who in his short time in charge has got swathes of fans onside, will be in a strong position to extend his stay.

He has done a marvellous job with the under-23s and has put his stamp on things already with the implementation of a new philosophy and style of play with the senior side.

As things stand, though, he is in a bit of a predicament. He doesn't know whether he will be at the club beyond the summer and, as such, is unable to have a big impact on long-term proceedings, such as the contract stipulations mentioned above.

It also throws summer planning up in the air, a little, however you would expect Morison, Mark Hudson and Co will leave no stone unturned and plan as if they are going to be there next season when it comes to transfers.

But the closer we get to the end of the campaign, the more you are likely to hear about Morison's contract, unless it is resolved early doors, of course.

I’d give him a two and a half year deal right now.

Ffs go and get Bellamy. Great coach, passionate and a winner. The club need to be bold here or we will be struggling for years.

I love Bellers here as a player as he had proved him to be a top class player However has he proved himself to be a great coach i don’t think so as yet .

I have said time and time again Craig Bellamy will not work under Tan or Dalman again, he was treated awful and let’s be fair he worked for our club for two years for FREE and was thrown under the bus.

Not many good managers would anymore.

Plus Bells had never forgiven Tan for how he treated Malky.
Bells took the Accademy job on as in his mind he would not be involved with the present Regime but two years later bang.

To my knowledge someone is already lined up to come in at the end of the season not sure where Morrison will fit in but hope he’s retained if it happens.

Is it a coincidence that Bellamy worked with age groups for two years and bang, we have a crop of youngsters coming through. I think he would do wonders with them in and around the first team.

Know what you’re saying mate and you could well be right but tbh I think with the current situation, we’d be playing youngsters whether they were good enough or not.

i wouldn't renew

Nothing against Steve, but the club is a mess and needs a new structure and he is far too inexperienced for that overhaul.

The U23's turnaround has been great but it looks like we could manage them as they are so much better than the league they are in. If 19 year olds are holding their own in the championship then they are likely to end up higher than the championship. We didn't get 42 games out of Ralls until he was 22.

If we had a Dof or sporting Director in charge of the football club and the first team coach's job is only to get a tune out of the first team and the DoF is the boss then lets continue with Steve on a 12 month rolling contract.

The world is changing and we still using a structure from a hundred years ago.

50/50 about Morison being kept in charge if we survive this season.

if we end up middle table then morally he should stay. Morality does not count these days in football. So mid table might not be enough and besides if the club are going to make money available, I doubt it, then i can understand bringing in an experienced manager.
