My issue is that they've seemingly singled it out; although I have seen many more 'events' being cancelled in the coming days/weeks, including pantomimes and theatre shows
Wales is currently 1 in 45 with Covid (mainly Omicron) and it's increasing rapidly
I know all too well the downside of Covid-19 and I was told last week that it was 'likely' my booster stopped me contracting the Omicron strain when my partner (no booster at that time) caught it
Honest question, what would people genuinely want/expect them to do under the circumstances?

Omicron ( one of 4000 daily variants ) is a good thing as it is now more dominant over the Delta and to most people is similar to a cold. Not pleasant ( I’ve had Covid twice ) but clearly it’s not dangerous to 99.9% of the population with no co-morbidities)
On this basis , there is no cost benefit analysis that supports the current measures in Wales.
Let’s not forget that the average age of death prior to Omicron was 83 anyway compared to 82 without Covid.
After nearly two years, I think it’s time that people focused on a good diet, excercise ,and low alcohol intake rather than rely on interventions which don’t stop transmission or infection.
