Expect another lockdown in January because naturally cases will rise over the festive period and the government would want to bring them down after new years.

What stats? The average age of the South African population is under 20 where as the average age of the population in the UK is over 40.We have already tried a wait and see response at the very start of the pandemic and as a result many more people lost their lives because of that delay.Remember the Cheltenham Festival and that Liverpool cup tie show how readily it spread and now this variant spreads that much easier.

The average age in South Africa is not under 20 but they do have a much younger population which is the main point of your argument The BBC reported average age is 28 The UK is an ageing population which is more prone to the covid virus For UK to look at SA experience and believe the same to happen in UK would be irresponsible at this early stage Not sure governments can win Gone to quick this time with reaction and went to late last time And on both occasion lambasted by the public

Ah.median vs average means we are both right though in the case of median it means the middle number in a set of numbers but for the purpose of this argument the average age indicates how much more tolerant a younger population might resist omicron better than an older population.

You're right about a lockdown because that's the ultimate form of control that this morally bankrupt government has over it's citizens.
The amount of cases is totally and utterly irrelevant. The ONLY figures relevant are hospitalisations and deaths and these have shown no signs of increasing for months and actual evidence from South Africa ( dismissed arrogantly by SAGE who've consistently been proven wrong time and again with their pessimistic guesswork) shows that there will not be such increases.
Did we ever see daily numbers for flu cases before this shitshow started in March 2020? Were we ever told how many people went to hospital or died from flu before March 2020? Were we ever told how many people caught flu in hospital or died within 28 days of any cause after having the flu?

As its the ENGLISH FA Cup and Preston have a right to 40 per cent of the gate money, they may have a case for insisting that the game is switched to Preston or they are compensated by the WAG. Love to see the fall out on that one.

It’s actually the Emirates FA Cup. Absolutely 0 chance Preston will be entitled to any sort of compensation from anyone due to this game being behind closed doors.

I am well aware of what it is called, but the point i was making was that its the English FA Cup that has been affected by a WAG ruling. Unlike football league games where the home side keeps all the gate, the away side is entitled to an equal share of the gate. As such Preston may have a case - not saying they will be successful - in asking for the game to be moved to Preston or to claim part of the WAG 3 million fund which City may be claiming. Be amusing to see Drakeford's reaction if they did. In reality with the game on TV and the inevitable reduced price its probable the game would barely break even so its probably academic.

Or the fact that vaccines don't actually stop you from catching it?!
How many times?! Honestly. It's this kind of nonsense that is keeping this shit going on for so long! The misinformation, the fear... I bet you even get a PCR every time you leave the house?!

You’ll certainly catch it by not having any![]()
This shit will certainly continue with professors like you about![]()
Only thing I fear is that the NHS will collapse due to the VAST amounts of people in hospital who decided they didn’t need to get vaccinated and are now clogging up the beds.
The time I’d need to take a PCR test is if I’d met you
