‘Isaak Davies / Mark Harris ‘

Mon Dec 13, 2021 6:44 pm

Isaak Davies, not for the first time this season, was simply outstanding when he came off the bench, providing a stunning injection of energy that noticeably rattled Birmingham.

He relentlessly hassled and harried opponents down the right wing, unsettling Birmingham in and out of possession with his blistering pace.

While Mark Harris is Turing out to be a great 15-20 min player and like a super sub, seems to struggle if put on for 90 mins and that’s happened with all previous managers.
Maybe Steve Morison has got it right with Harris, super sub.

"We wanted to match Birmingham up in midfield because they go man for man in there and I felt Rubin could really hurt their deep-lyer.

STEVE MORISON:

"It didn't go as well as I'd hoped it was going to do. I thought the midfield three were poor at times. We made made changes, we changed the shape and we had to be brave and go for it.”

"Ultimately. I thought Isaak and Mark were fantastic when I brought them both on. When Will came on as well he added that little bit of bite that we needed.”

"So three positive subs that all did really, really well."

What ever happens in January, Davies will almost certainly get more chances over the coming weeks, but only if his manager is convinced he's capable of having an impact.

Morison, as with Colwill and co, faces a balancing act in terms of developing and nurturing the club's most exciting young talents, and doing what's best for the team in the heat of a relegation battle.

But one thing's for sure, if Davies continues to excel when handed those opportunities, it will spell good news for the Bluebirds - and Wales.
