“ CCFC / 22,000 / Derby County / Let’s Sink them

Got to be at least 22,000 home crowd :bluebird: :bluebird:

NOW IS THE TIME TO BACK YOUR CLUB WE ALL LOVE / THIS IS WHEN YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOU

Let’s sink Derby once and for all :bluebird:

You all turned up in the Premier League 30,000 / So if you are a City fan these are the times your club needs you

Derby will bring big away support even though they are virtually down and out, Cardiff are the opposite we can stay up with ease :bluebird:

But we don’t want the CCSC to be soulless this Saturday :bluebird:

You all say you believe in Steve Morison and his trojans, so turn up and support the Mighty Bluebirds :bluebird: :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Cardiff are in this relegation battle and behind the quips and the smiles, there will surely be some recognition that Cardiff are still very much in a relegation scrap right now.

“ Derby now huge “

Despite the nature of the comeback at St Andrew's, Steve Morison suggested that there was an air of frustration in the Cardiff dressing room at how his team, not for the first time this season, had given their opponents such an easy head start.

It provided a sharp contrast to the noises of jubilation in the away end after the final whistle, although one can only assume that those supporters perhaps hadn't yet seen the table.

Peterborough United's win over Morison's former club Millwall means the gap between City and the relegation zone now stands at just three points heading into what could be a crucial Christmas period.

"I'll have to send a couple of texts to the Millwall lads and find out what they're playing at," Morison joked at the end of his post-match press conference when informed of the result at London Road.

After a positive start under the new boss, Cardiff have now won just once in their last four league outings, and it's a run that will do little to ease the jitters, particularly with Coventry, Bournemouth and West Brom all awaiting them over a daunting Christmas period.

That Derby County game just got a hell of a lot bigger.

The early kick off will have killed any chance of a 20k crowd :(
Could’ve seen us getting ~20k if it was 3pm, especially after the Brum result but now I reckon ~17k

Why is it an early KO? It’s not scheduled for TV?

If it was Man United, Liverpool home etc etc it would be sold out if it was 9am kick off

Of course it would, but they’re 2 of the best and biggest teams in the country and arguably the world. People will put in extra effort to watch them over Derby.

Our core fan base that turns up to watch CCFC no matter what is ~12k to ~16k. When we doing well that adds on another 5k, fighting for promotion is another 3k or 4k on top of that.

To hit 20k+ there needs to be an incentive for more casual fans to go. The last game before Christmas, start of the school holidays, feel good factor after Brum, etc would’ve been a reason for extra people to go but the earlier start time will put more off than the positives attract imo.

Ok if it was Leeds, Villa, Man City, Everton , Newcastle, Spurs etc their would be 27,000 plus.
So what your saying is the other fans are only coming to watch the opposition.
:thumbright: :bluebird:
For me A REAL CITY FAN DOES NOT CARE WHO THE OPPOSITION IS AS THEY ARE COMING TO WATCH THEIR CLUB
:thumbright: :bluebird:
Time would not matter, weather, holidays etc etc

If we were playing any of those teams we’d be in the PL so yes it would be a 27k+ crowd. We don’t have 27k “Real fans” as you call them. As I said I think our core fan base is roughly between 12k and 16k and those are the people that turn up no matter the time, weather, holidays, performance, etc.

There’s no reason or precedent that a relegation fight at 12:30 against Derby would bring in a crowd of 22k+

It’s the same at every club in every division. Even Leeds (who to their credit have an excellent support) went through a period only a few years ago where they were getting crowds of 20k/25k compared to now when they easily fill Elland Road.
