Defensive issues remain, but 'excellent' McGuinness a gem
Defensive frailties have undoubtedly been at the heart of Cardiff's problems this season, and were laid bare again at St Andrew's.
Both of Birmingham's goals were frustratingly sloppy from a Bluebirds point of view, and it so nearly left Morison's men with nothing.
Cardiff have recorded just one clean sheet all season, and that's a record that desperately needs to change. Many have already made the point that this back three needs more pace and athleticism in order to progress, but Morison can't rely on business getting done in January, and may well have to find his own solutions.
However, the emergence of Mark McGuinness this season has undoubtedly been a real positive.
His late equaliser, a third goal in five games, capped off another impressive performance, much to the delight of fans on social media.
Given the uncertainty around the likes of Sean Morrison, Aden Flint and Joe Ralls, it's certainly a fair question, although it's admittedly unlikely to be on the list of priorities at the moment.

Morrison works better with Nelson and McGuiness than Flint IMO, I was worried that we would concede more in these three games while he was suspended, lets hope the Management team can come up with some improvement, these soft goals are costing us.
