Players will continue to take the knee until the end of the season, says Premier League chief Richard Masters
"It has never been an instruction, it has always been a personal choice. We have had remarkable unanimity up to this point and I expect that to continue."
"We will discuss with the players in the close season what we are going to do to continue to make our feelings clear about anti-discrimination messaging going forward."
My opinion is the Welsh and English F.A's will go along with whatever the PL decides.
A little convenient they look to drop social justice campaigns in the summer, isn't there an International tournament for elite national players in the summer of 2022?
I hope the elite players don't forget to pack they're rainbow laces.
Have a lovely day chaps (and the few ladies who browse) I haven't forgotten you.

It should never have been done in the first place and for me in my opinion, I have been against it from day one, it has NO place in football.

We will see what happens in the summer Annis, a lot of Southern Asian migrants have died building stadia in Qatar, it would look weird them kneeling at an event built on what some have suggested is 'modern day slavery.'
In regards to kicking homophobia out the game, surely it would be time to make a stand in summer 2022 wouldn't it?
Social justice campaigns have no place in football, I echo you're views, I'm just interested to see how this plays out.
Will they pick on only UK fans for re-education? surely the summer of 2022 is great opportunity

Premier League's Richard Masters is clearly aware its going to look daft kneeling to fight all forms of discrimination, at an event where homosexuality is outlawed.

In my view, they won't kneel in Qatar. I'd be surprised if they do

If they felt so strongly about human rights and anti-discrimination, well, then they shouldn't go

I think the embarrassment of kneeling in Qatar will be too much heat for them endure. I'm guessing a strong PR campaign, batting away calls of hypocrisy by ending it is surprisingy the easier option.
Who can refuse FIFA and Qatari's wish for the perfect world cup
We shall see.

Exactly, and us the fans are not that interested where investment comes from in terms of club investment.
Newcastle fans for example.
So we're not the perfect ones, but we're not claiming or virtue signalling to be!
The clubs, players and football associations need to be knocked down a peg, or three!!
Sun Dec 12, 2021 4:25 pm
If they take a knee in Qatar, and continue in the season 2022/3, then it's time the fans call them out on it.
I got the feeling PL C.E.O Richard Masters isn't going to let that happen though, the gravy train is at a different platform, ticket to Qatar,, choo choo!!

Just having a read of the BLM website, I really have nothing to do tonight, I've broke my foot and I've had two already
"We stand together in solidarity with all citizens in demanding equal human rights, racial equality, social and criminal justice for all people equally. We are operating as a non-partisan, non-political, non-violence, unifying arm of the Black Lives Matter Movement in Britain, United Kingdom. Not a member of nor connected with any political party"

The players have spent over a year posturing. Now is you're chance. #boycottQatar2022
Sun Dec 12, 2021 8:55 pm
There have been 6500 migrant worker deaths since Qatar won their bid in 2010. Thats 12 deaths per week. And the figures are likely to be significantly higher as it doesn't include figures from some other countries who also send large numbers.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.thegua ... d-cup-2022The football world should be boycotting this farce of a WC that was purely awarded as the result of massive bribes, just like Russia.
The drop knee is purely PC virtue signalling and massively wrong as it's a BLM thing.
If players and clubs really wanted to support a real world human rights emergency that's actually happening in their football world right now, they should stop the meaningless PC drop knee and make a stand against what's happened and is happening right now in Qatar.
But morals walk when money talks.

Well this action has done nothing but caused division.
Ae we any more aware of this "Diversity"? Not really. have we done anything to fight racism since it all started. I don't think so.
It's been a waste of time.

Very interesting isn't it as it puts the English, Welsh (we will qualify) F.A's in an awkward position. Scotland will not have to worry
I'll be watching

do they or don't they hmmm

Yes agreed, when I see fans next to me clapping in support of the knee bending and fist clenching, I do sort of wonder what goes on upstairs, what do they think about outside the stadium?, I bet they only eat chips at home, I bet they like Madonna, those sorts of things go through my mind, then the whistle blows, it's all forgotten about, game on.

The hypocrisy of football is just jaw dropping, it states the sport is not to be used for political gestures, however it allows this gesture , all because its too gutless to stamp out racism at source or
deliver root and branch change within its organisation , it hangs on the gesture of taking the knee in some form of belief that's fixed it .
Welsh football should man up and stand up it's a sport not a political dress forum.

You are spot on bloody hypocrisy, if those players like Rashford or Sterling had any pride they'd refuse to go to Qatar, will they ,nah ,need to keep tye sponsors on side
Mon Dec 13, 2021 12:15 am
I think I got the timescale wrong. Its a winter tournament is it not?
This is actually perfect planning by football's hierarchy, they'll stop taking the knee at the start of the 2022/23 season, I'll stake my reputation on that hunch lol
Mon Dec 13, 2021 6:44 am
Good anyone who takes the knee is either ignorant of the aims or an imbecile.
I wouldnt take the knee for any of my family never mind some marxist inspired morons.
