Having watched the MOTD Top 10 thing on this who are yours for us?
Definition of an unsung hero is obviously different from person to person but is usualy someone who contrubutes loads but doesnt tend to be a fans favourite, have chants about them etc
Ill start off with two..
Steve McPhail, absolute quality player, I know we had the Steeeeve Mcphail Chant but I dont think his quality was truly appeciated.
Joe Bennett, probably the best left back to have played for Cardiff in the last 30 years at least

Going back to my first season 1977 there was a midfielder who certainly fits the bill - Alan Campbell.
A little bit later I’d go for Craig Middleton (early 90s?)
Currently I’d go for Joe Ralls. Not everyone’s favourite but we seem to play better when he’s in the team. A real 100% er

Same team as Middleton I believe. Yes he had a good record but wasn’t a personal fave of mine as he tended to shirk the odd tackle and headed challenge and I hate that.
Richard Carpenter was a good one from that era

There are too many to mention but a few of the lesser known ones were Leigh Barnard and Willie Boland. How we could do with players like that now. The sheer work rate of Steve (Lethal) Lynex who was the lesser known of the Leicester partnership with a certain Gary Lineker. Not so unsung but certainly a player that made his more famous strike partner was one of my all time favourites Brian Clark

I said a while back Stephen would make an excellent DOF here.
