Max Watters' setback as out injured for another two weeks after latest setback.

Watters had already been injured at the beginning of the season and has already been out for the last two weeks, now it’s feared he will be out for at least another two weeks for League One MK Dons.

Watters 23 years old next March signed from Crawley in January this year with the local media putting out that Watters was a £1million buy from Crawley, but later retracting and saying £250,000 with add ons.

MK Dons boss Liam Manning says Max Watters could miss their midweek clash with Plymouth.

Cardiff's on-loan striker picked up a knock against Sheffield Wednesday two weeks ago and has suffered a setback in his recuperation.

“Max is progressing slowly,” Manning confirmed. “He's not quite where we want him to be but he's heading in the right direction. Those sorts of injuries can be quite sore so it's a case of making sure we don't rush him.

“After that heavy period we had quite a few lads who were carrying a few sore groins and hamstrings, nothing too serious, so it has been important to give them that rest.

“We had an intense period with the Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday games we had, so after Leyton Orient it was nice to be able to reflect on that time and then do some good training. It was important to give the guys a few days rest as well, letting them switch off physically and mentally. They've trained really well this week.”

Watters has been in good form for MK, scoring 5 goals in 11 appearances in all competitions. As such, there have been calls from the Bluebirds fanbase to bring the former Crawley Town striker back to south Wales in January.

This is the second time this season Watters has had to come back from injury for MK.

Some Cardiff fans calling for Max Watters to return in January for the Bluebirds, but the Championship is a hell of a step up
for the lad when he has spent most of his career in the lower lower leagues.

Max Watters will be 23 this coming season and should spend the rest of this season in League 1 , in my opinion :thumbright: :thumbright:
