Ipswich, League 1 , I think Neil Harris is more suited to League 1 and would do well at Ipswich Town :thumbright: :thumbright:

Harris favourite for Tractor Boys

Former Cardiff boss Neil Harris has been installed as the favourite for the vacant Ipswich Town job.

Harris has been out of work since being relieved of his duties at Cardiff City Stadium just under a year ago.

Since then he has been performing media duties for Sky Sports, often appearing as a studio pundit.

Now BetVictor have him in pole to succeed Paul Cook at Portman Road.

Harris' closest competitor appears to be recent Waterford manager Marc Bircham who is priced at just 4/1 to take up his first permanent managerial job in English football.

Elsewhere, current interim manager John McGreal is 6/1 to turn his position permanent, whilst MK Dons' Liam Manning and Monterey Bay's Frank Yallop are given the same odds.

Meanwhile, Michael Appleton is 8/1 to go from the LNER Stadium to Portman Road and Chelsea legends John Terry and Frank Lampard are potential outsiders for the vacancy at 12/1.

Next Permanent Ipswich Town manager:

Neil Harris: 1/1
Marc Bircham: 4/1
Liam Manning: 6/1
John McGreal: 6/1
Frank Yallop: 6/1
Michael Appleton: 8/1
John Terry: 12/1
Frank Lampard: 12/1
Lee Johnson: 12/1

I hope he's developed a backbone since leaving us or they got no chance

He brought in some good players for us, Moore,Ng,Wilson etc and also his mate Morison to to improve our under 23’s. He tried to change our hoofball tactics but we didn’t have enough footballers and was in my opinion unlucky to be sacked after a bad run when Moore and Morrison were out injured. He got Millwall promotion from Division 1 and Ipswich is a bigger club!

His recruitment was spot on like someone else said, he just couldn't get them playing well. I liked Harris and wanted him to do well but getting rid of him was the right call, it was the replacement that was the wrong call. But Wilson, Ojo, Kieffer, Watters, Phillips all were decent signings and I know the jury is still out on Watters but he does look promising. Plus lets not forget he actually got Tomlin playing well and thats something not many others have managed. He deserves another chance at management.
