‘ Isaak Davies ‘

Mon Dec 06, 2021 7:47 am

Young Isaak Davies looks a teeny bit frail at times for the rough and tumble of Championship football.

But Cardiff could have a little gem on their hands here, someone with genuine pace who wants to run at defenders and create.

He almost scored a solo wonder goal in the first-half that would have changed the complexion of the entire match.

He'll be in and out of the side, as with other youngsters, but credit to Morison for giving another academy ace his chance in the big time.

If Cardiff can get the ball to Davies' feet more often, with the opportunity to go at opposition defences, they'll create lots of chances.

Isaak Davies could be another quality player coming through like Rubin Colwill?

Isaak just needs working on his strength and building him up, I remember Robert Earnshaw being very similar and was put the weights etc

For his size I think he looks after the ball and retains it really well. He looks fearless and always tries to impact the game in a positive way.

We've got some good eggs amongst this crop of youngster's hes definitely one of the ones who excite me. Sounds like his family are city through and through aswell which is a added bonus.

A couple of times on Saturday he got muscled off the ball but that's only to be expected as a youngster coming into the team. Strength is one of the easier things to improve and and can be done relatively quickly.

He's certainly got a spark about him and, to me at the moment, he looks like he has greater potential of making it than Harris. That said, I hope they both make it.

Watch him in the U23 and he was by far the best player. However, he looks lightweight and a step up to the senior squad could be a step to far due to his size.

So what is his best positin ot flourish in the first team? Judges are out.

Ian,

Def light weight and so was Earnshaw , I remember being with Sam and chatting to Earnie and Sam arranged for Earnie extra training with weights three days a week and built him up :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

At his size he will get muscled off the ball at times We seen Moore muscled off it more than a few times this season It happens The one thing he has is pace and once he learns to use it at the right times i think we have a very good player on our hands

He needs to fall over and scream every time he feels contact.Make em shit scared to touch him.Plenty of players in the prem make a living off it.

I think we need to go 442 or 4411 or 4231 so that both Davies and Evans can be played more regularly as wingers and with a bit more support / options around them.

Perhaps Giles on the left and either Davies or Evans on the right. Then have Colwill in the no. 10 position.

I think it would help their development and with an extra body in midfield would reduce the burden on them somewhat.

Davies had a few very decent run on Saturday.. he looks sharp and quick. But a little unfair that the whole burden for pace and creativity was on his shoulders.
