‘ Kieffer Moore / James Collins ‘

Sun Dec 05, 2021 3:07 pm

Cardiff starting any game without Kieffer Moore means the team is weaker.

Morison said Moore wasn't fit enough to play against the Blades. Cardiff were a poorer side for it.

Make absolutely no mistake, the Wales centre-forward is the key to Wales' capital city club climbing up that table.

Not just in terms of his goals, but his general hold up play, menace to defenders and the hope he brings to the fans.

James Collins is always a willing trier, to be fair, but the truth is there is only one Kieffer Moore.

Collins has no where near the quality and finishing of Moore.

Collins gives everything, but has missed some real sitters in 20 games ( incl Cup) for the Bluebirds, Collins has managed only one goal and is not what the Bluebirds need right now or next season, unless of course they were relegated.

Give the service to Moore and he will score.

Hopefully Kieffer Moore is back for Birmingham at the weekend, a major clash with Derby the week after and the Xmas tests.

Cardiff need Kieffer.

Agreed but Kieffer should have scored with that header at the end, Collins would have been slated for missing a chance like that.

Why does Collins get stick if he misses one chance but Moore gets a pass? I didn't exactly see Moore turn the game around when he came on. Saying Collins has missed some sitters makes it sound like Moore never misses anything which is ridiculous.

They both have good & bad points and just because Moore doesn't start does not automatically make us worse, we were doing fine until Morrisson got sent off so blame him not Collins.

He gets less stick because he scores a shit load more goals.

That's the pressure of being a striker. No one can fault his efforts for the team but strikers need to score goals!

I must admit, I was less than impressed with Moore when he came on and I thought his lack of effort was worrying given our position when he came on. However, if he's been ill all week, as Morison stated afterwards, his performance was quite understandable.

He's had a really disrupted season and we could do with him having a good run of games and fitness over Christmas so that we can at least see whether we're a better team with him than without him.

I still think we may struggle to keep him in January but fingers crossed I'm wrong on that one. The one advantage we have is that with the World Cup coming he'll want to be playing regularly so a move to a Prem club would have to be the right one for him.

All that said, he should have buried that header on Saturday so he just hasn't hit the heights of last season yet.

Steve Morison on Kieffer Moore:

‘He wasn't in a physical state to start, he has been ill all week and been very weak.”

So I made the decision to leave him out. He got through most of training yesterday and was able to go on to the bench and give us an option. I don't know if you could see, but he was in the middle of the pitch heaving!’

I kept seeing Kieffer slapping his chest after every run he made so this now makes sense. Fair play for making himself available for the bench today. We'll need commitment like that over the season :bluebird:

If he has had what I've had, then I feel for him, been rough as for over a week now. Missing the game Saturday sick in bed!

Very sorry to hear.
