STEVE MORISON:
"Everyone could see what the performance was like until the sending off and as I said to them in there, the sending off has killed us," he said. "But everything around that sending off was really good and a really positive performance.
"It's a red card. Ultimately, you can't give the referee the opportunity to make the decision. Things we get wrong before it. Mozza made a decision and it turned out to be the wrong one."
Asked if his skipper had said anything to his team-mates afterwards, Morison replied: "There's nothing to be said. We all know that it's what's cost us. We go again Monday. We can't worry about it now. It is what it is. We need everyone in the dressing room and the most disappointing thing is I know I haven't got him for next week.
"It was a bad moment and ultimately it's cost us."
Cardiff did rally late on, with Mark McGuinness netting a header, which hinted at the strength of character in the Cardiff dressing room at the moment.
Kieffer Moore was arguably at the centre of Cardiff's late flourish, with Wes Foderingham producing a fine save to deny the striker a goal late on.
Many will have been surprised to see Moore's name on the bench ahead of this one, but Morison revealed afterwards that the forward had been struggling with illness this week and wasn't fit to start.
"He came to train yesterday," he added. "So he wasn't in a physical state to start a game of football. I made the decision to leave him out.
"As of yesterday, I didn't know if he was even going to be able to come onto the bench. We gave him until the last few minutes. He got through most of training yesterday and he was able to go on to the bench and give us an option if needed. But it was in a bad situation.
"I don't know if you could see, but he was in the middle of the pitch heaving and stuff! He gave us everything he had in that period and was unfortunate not to get a goal too."
