Cardiff are a different class to the opposition Hopefully Colchester are not the usual standard of the teams the U23 play as this is not a test for them

First change for City, as James Crole replaces @ChankaZimba. (2-0)

Let’s hope they win promotion from this league as over half the teams are League 1 & 2, they need a higher standard next year :thumbright: :bluebird: :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

They certainly do The jump will be a totally different level and can only benefit the players Especially those who may jump up to the first team Zimba was a prime example of finding it easy in U23 and then looking nowhere near ready when in first team

Agreed, but I thought at the time, to start zimba was a bit too much of an ask, for his debut.perhaps we can loan one or two out to league 1 or two for more experience??

Take your point, but most of the League 1 teams we have played so far are quite big sides. Whilst their first side may be struggling you would expect them to have a reasonably strong youth set up. Sheff Wed, Charlton and Ipswich

As they say you can only play / win with what is in-front of you, But these clubs have been struggling for years and had many problems.

I would say Sheffield United were the biggest test and we beat them :thumbright: :bluebird: We def need more clubs to play like them.

Even Steve Morison says at the moment from our U23 team to our first team its a massive jump and many have struggled.

What is really credible is that most of our development line up these days seems to be just that. Young kids. Not a sprinkling of seasoned pros coming back from injury etc

5 of the 10 victories against Championship clubs but agree we need to be playing against Premier League Academy’s if we want a steady stream of youngsters getting into our first team!
