MY VIEW: TODAY CARDIFF SCORE THEIR FIRST GOAL IN THE FIRST H

Postby Forever Blue » Sat Nov 27, 2021 4:55 pm

MY VIEW / OPINION:

I said stick with Steve Morison as he is not a yes man and will do what he feels and wants :bluebird: :bluebird:

We will be on a roller coaster ride :bluebird: :bluebird:

Steve Morison has No money and a small squad of quality players, but I have faith in him :bluebird: :bluebird:

TODAY CARDIFF SCORE THEIR FIRST GOAL IN THE FIRST HALF-HALF THIS SEASON & OLD HEAD SEAN MORISSON SCORES THE WINNER :bluebird: :bluebird:

THE OLD HEADS 'THE TRIED & TESTED PLAYERS WERE BROUGHT IN BY STEVE MORISON 7 MANY YOUNGSTERS LEFT OUT AS CITY GET THE 3PTS :bluebird: :bluebird:

BUT ALSO RUBIN COLWILL THE ONLY YOUNGSTER TO START SCORES THE FIRST GOAL :bluebird: :bluebird:

Steve Morison dropped all the younger payers from the starting line up and hardly any on subs bench.

Brought back Sean Morrison and as Captain.

Started James Collins.

Steve Morison said the other day, it’s a massive step up from the U23’s for these lads.

First-half: An early finally by Cardiff :bluebird:
Cardiff have been on the back foot for most of the 2nd-half, but have held firm :bluebird: :bluebird:

Second-half: Luton came back to 1-1, but old head Sean Morrison, scored a brilliant header :bluebird: to score the winner :bluebird: :bluebird:

Steve Morison turned to the old heads to keep City out of the bottom three & get the three points :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

LUTON TOWN 1 CARDIFF CITY 2 :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:
H-T 0-1 :bluebird:
Crowd 9,987
Away Support (1,032) :bluebird: :bluebird:

Cardiff City: Smithies; McGuinness, Morrison (C), Nelson; Ng, Pack, Ralls, Giles; Colwill; Collins, Moore.

Substitutes: Phillips, Flint, Vaulks, Bacuna, Harris, Brown, Davies

10 mins: GOAL! Luton Town 0-1 Cardiff City ( Rubin Colwill )

Goal! Colwill heads home! :bluebird:

Goal! Colwill heads home!

Excellent goal, that. Ralls spreads a brilliant pass to Collins, who does well to find Ng. He lifts a cross to the back post and Coliwll heads towards goal. Sluga looks to have saved it but Oliver Langford says it has gone over the line!

Cardiff have scored a first-half goal!

YES 1 NIL City :bluebird: :bluebird:

After a decent start and a fist-half goal from Colwill, City allowed Luton to come back into the game and lost their 'shape' for a while, but thankfully held firm and it stayed 0-1 :bluebird: :bluebird:

H-T 0-1 :bluebird: :bluebird:

71st min; Harris on for Colwill.

77th min: GOAL! Luton Town 1-2 Cardiff City (Morrison 77) :bluebird: :bluebird:
GOAL! Morrison!

YES YES That goal was a sight for sore eyes. :bluebird: :bluebird:

Giles whips in a tremendous ball across the back of the defenders and Morrison sprints in at the back post, dives parallel to the floor and buries his header! SEAN MORRISON :bluebird: :bluebird:

79th min: Isaak Davies on for James Collins. A grear round of applause from the home fans for Collins.

CITY HOLD FIRM & GET THE THREE POINTS :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Had a emergency on just before KO so had to take one of the daughters to hospital. Everything turned out OK and have just got back to see City win 2-1. Looking forward now to everyone's report of the game.

Glad everything is OK Annis. Very good win today, but I was very concerned at the way we conceded the goal as we had so many chances to clear the danger but kept giving the ball back to Luton. On another note, did the jacks let Reading win today because of the League table?

There was a lot of negativity on this board the last few days after the hull game great response from city had a feeling we would get something from Luton today yes he left a few of the youngster out today and brought back a few old heads nothing wrong with that rubin colwill deserved to start today and the the youngsters who have been playing recently haven’t let’s us down I still believe since Morrison took over the football is much better once again we get another away win priceless I’m sure city will starve off relegation Morrison doing a good job as far as I’m concerned

The negativity was largely born out of frustration at such a ridiculous midfield selection v Hull. We did enough to at least draw that game but today the obvious point to make today was City had 11 men working hard and doing their jobs (by and large) without being handicapped by having 2 lightweight passengers running around doing nothing.

Cardiff City manager Steve Morison:

"I thought we were excellent, I thought we dominated in all areas, with and without the ball.”

“When you need to lift things and get the important results, you need to look to experience.”

"Conditions were terrible, it was really tough, but we fought for each other and the fans and it was a well deserved victory.

"It's only the media who want to focus on the stat about the first half goals, I couldn't care less when we score as long as we win games of football.

"We have won three in four and we look for the positives and how we can get better going forward."

“Let’s all be positive and believe, this club will stay up as long as we all stick together..

Just 4 wins off the playoffs. Plenty of time. We've not been on a good run yet.

Brilliant win today, and that must be the first time for a while that we haven't been behind in a game. We have more away wins than any of the teams in the play-off places and only the top 2 have won more on the road. We now need to make CCS a fortress, because our home form is shocking, only 2 wins and 7 defeats and it's not December yet. If we'd got 2 wins and a draw out of those 7 defeats we'd be just outside the play-off places, so we need to turn it around. Not taking anything away from today's result because it was great. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Experience is what gets you the results in the end, even the best managers turn to their experienced players to get them out of trouble. Play a couple of the younger ones, not five and six in a match day squad
