STEVE MORISON:

Team news for Luton?

We are a fully-fit squad, apart from Sam Bowen, who is obviously still out. And Isaac Vassell is still out.

It’s still his (Bowen’s) plantar fascia. He went out on to the grass to run yesterday and he failed.

The sore ones, I spoke about Sangy’s toe, it’s his foot and he needs his foot! He will be all right eventually, he has got loads of time on his side, he will be fine.

Morison

Luton welcome back goalkeeper Simon Sluga following a period of isolation after he was deemed a close contact of someone who had contracted Covid-19.

Luke Berry, however, remains a doubt for the hosts.

Cardiff City have reported an almost completely clean bill of health.

Sam Bowen is still out with a problem with his foot, while long-term absentee Isaac Vassell will also still be unavailable.

Team News: :bluebird:

Two Injuries still, Sam Bowen and of course Isaac Vassell.

Can I stream or watch the match on TV?

This match is live on Cardiff City TV outside of the UK.

The Opposition's Manager - Nathan Jones

Jones is currently in his second spell as Luton manager.

In his first spell, beginning in January 2016, he took them from the bottom of League Two to the top of League One before leaving in January 2019 to take the job at Stoke.

He struggled at Stoke and returned to Luton in May 2020.

He successfully saved them from relegation in that season.

Opposition Dangerous Players

Elijah Adebayo has scored eight league goals this season and is the obvious danger man.

However he did miss a penalty in midweek against Nottingham Forest.

Previous Meeting

We won 2-0 at Luton in February

Luton Town have lost their last four league games against Cardiff, their joint-worst losing run against the Bluebirds, also four in a row between April 1979 and November 1980.

Cardiff have kept a clean sheet in their last three away league matches against Luton (W2 D1). The last time Luton scored against them at Kenilworth Road was a Chris Barker own goal in a 3-3 draw in February 2006.

Luton, who lost 1-0 to Stoke last time out at Kenilworth Road, have only lost consecutive home league games once since re-joining the Championship in 2019-20, losing to Nottingham Forest and Leeds in November 2019.

Cardiff City have lost 10 of their last 13 Championship matches (W2 D1) and lost 11 of their 19 league games so far this season. The last time the Bluebirds lost more than 11 of their first 20 league games in a season outside the top-flight was back in 1985-86 in the third-tier, when they lost 14.

Luton striker Cameron Jerome has scored in each of his last five league appearances against former club Cardiff, netting a brace the last time he faced them in April 2018 for Derby.

The question of who the strike partner of Kieffer Moore should be has been a hot topic during the past few weeks for the Cardiff City faithful, so did Isaak Davies do enough against Hull City to warrant that position?

Despite losing 1-0 to Hull City, there were signs that the partnership of Moore and Davies could work in the future.

As we all know Moore is, in the main, a guaranteed starter for Cardiff, but the problem has been finding a player who complements his game to get the best out of him.

If colwill is fit, I'd put him up there, or give harris another pop?

If he starts with the Pack Vaulks Bacuna midfield combo then we’re already on the back foot.
Out of those 3 Vaulks is the first to be dropped as presumably Ralls will be fit enough to start.
Bacuna needs to be replaced. Colwill is the obvious choice.
Sean Morrison if fully fit and focused may replace one of the CBs.
I’d start Davies. I rate him more than Harris.

The City line up today is as positive as we have seen fir some time and bodes quite well, if we can avoid the now customary early goal against

Luton seem to have two distinct modes; very good or very poor and we need to pressure them into the latter

Every game is importatnt butcequalky every game is a new start/opportunity

Forget midweek and we move on in positive frame of mind :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :bluebird:

The ball breaks in midfield and Ralls tries to slide through a pass for Moore, but it's just off target.

Wind playing a big part early doors. Blowing with Cardiff in the first half.

A long Luton throw is flicked on at the front post. It's dangerous but Smithies is decisive and rushes out to gather it.

Giles lifts in a nice cross and Moore climbs, but he can't get enough purchase on it and it's cleared for a Cardiff throw.

4 goals from midfield and not starting every game. That’s a pretty good strike rate for a youngster.
