DJ IS THE MAN FOR THE JOB

Thu Sep 16, 2010 7:08 pm

Some of you may think the title is a bit overexaderated and most of this thread will mirror what carlccfc has said in previous posts however i have the following to say.

6 games in-CITY are 13 points and 2nd in the league and there are many fans critisising DJ for lossing 2-1 away at Leicester City on a wet horrible tuesday night. I find this quite unbelievable. At the start of August most of you on this messageboard were saying that you would be happy to be in the play offs because we had not signed anyone etc and were sympathetic for DJ. The side we put out Tuesday was our basic side prior to the big signings in august and ALSO minus our two best strikers bothroyd and chopra of the basic team before bellers etc signed. now if we had not signed bellers/oli/koumas etc, DJ would have had alot more sympathy and less stick loosing up at Leicester 2-1, so why are fans critisising him now?. Sometimes city fans dont make sense? What gives us the right to win every game???? NONE....This exact time last year newcastle lost away at blackpool so we all need to chill out. Even if we loose saturday, it means nothing. Sunderland were in relgation in october a few seasons ago and went up as champions. I find there has been a big problem with some of our fans really and that is being too big for our boots- too big headed and some saying we are the best in the league and we gonna stuff every team etc, ive heard this talk on matchdays, absolute madness. This is the championship, anything can happen, at any time....CITY defended brilliant on tuesday night 1st half- second half the defenders didnt do their job and cost us at least a point....NOT DJ;s fault.Lets all take a reality check and appreciate where we are and that we just have a chance of going up automatically BUT LETS NOT GET BIGHEADED about it-it only brings bad luck.

Another thing is people have told me if we DONT get promoted DJ has to go..???? WHY? TELL ME WHY? If we dont get promoted and DJ gets sacked ill put my mortgage on the loan players (who DJ brought in) leaving......our out of contract players like borthroyd/whitts/burke etc all leaving.... leaving this club in a mess and i think we would get relegated. The key to the success of this club i feel is patience...stick by our manager...the bloke has took us to an fa cup final....a play off final and helped put the club on the map. we are no doubt improving every season under DJ and i think this is our year..keep the faith.

What does everybody else think? Will the club fall apart if he has to leave?

Swansea have had 2 different managers and they seem to have done well.

If DJ were to go then who would come in instead and be able to do a better job???? Realistically..........no one could!!

I said these names last year and the year before, Neil Warnock,Darren Ferguson, Ian Holloway, I said them all before they had done well.

Since coming up to the Champioship Swansea have had 3 managers. Martinez left have just missing out on a PO. Sousa replaced him and seen to match Martinez achievements, Sousa has been replaced by Rodgers and he seems to be doing a good job.

Changing a manager can work sometimes.

If you have no vision you have no future. We will never improve with Jones because he doesn't believe with all the good practice that makes a winning football team. He never looks beyond the next match so there's no need to get in replacements for "one match". He doesn't believe in young players because they have to be brought on. He'll buy an old crock before a younger player any day.

Darren Ferguson, oh dear.

If Jones had masterminded Ferguson's last 2 results (4-3 defeat away after being 3-1 up with 12mins remaining and 2-1 defeat at home after leading 1-0), i think AAMB and CCMB would spontaneously combust.

ccfcdor - this is by far the best post i have seen recently. Your 100% spot on!!
It's shocking that people are having a moan after 1 loss..........unbelievable really, especially considering we had 5 of our best players out. In my opinion Jones has done a brilliant job. I could understand people complaining if he'd blown millions on useless players but overall he's bought and sold really well, all with one hand tied behind his back and The Riddler f*cking him about.
And all the stuff about him not planning ahead.............how can anyone plan ahead when he doesn't know where the next pound is coming from, when he's going to be allowed to sign players and when the club's going to be in administration?? It's a near impossible task.

I do not understand us fans, Dave Jones is a hard nosed stubborn, sarcastic, full of self confidence and is bloody minded but what an excellent manage he has been for us, even if we do not get promoted this season I personally would not like to see him go. Other people on here has mentioned them down the road and have had 3 managers in 3 seasons, but what have they achieved have any of the 3 taken them to Wembley with their crowds going backwards and ours going upwards.

Yes he has made mistakes, Ramsey in the cup final, getting rid of Neil Alexender before he had a replacement for him, but what manager hasn't

I believe that when Dave Jones goes he will get the full credit he deserves from a lot of fans and maybe in a few years down the line we may be having collections to build a statue for him.

How long did it take Shankly Revie and Ferguson to build a team ? that statement my seem a bit extreme in regards to Dave Jones but the point is , in this modern era of wanting/demanding quick success clubs changing managers at the first opportunity, treating the next manager as the new messiah, I think the stability of the management team we have has served us well, along with his back room staff, who has also stayed loyal to him and the club, in order to give us the stability we needed during the summer, when we did not really know where the club was going to be.

Davey Jones barmey army davey jones barmey army :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Would you seriously want Warnock in charge instead of Jones - he leaves within a year of every job he takes these days - we would be back to square one before we know it. Ferguson - what has he done to make people think he would do a better job than Jones? Holloway has had a good time at blackpool but was shit everywhere else. Do you think Bellamy, Koumas, Seyi and others would have joined with Holloway in charge, i dont think so.

Had we brought in a different manager six weeks ago and told him we had
no dosh to spend would we still have signed:

Tom Heaton (Young Player)
Danny Drinkwater (Young Player)
Seji Olifinyana
Craig Bellamy
Andy Keogh
Lee Naylor

Would we have hung on to Jay Bothroyd and Peter Whittingham.

David Miserable Jones has put our current side together

Would a different manager get them playing any better?

Cos seriously speaking, the only way he could really improve on what Jones has done so far
is to have got us 18 points from 18!

Neil Warnock got huge praise when his team came back with two injury time goals at Derby
because of his sides 'never say die attitude'.... Had that been Cardiff City doing that, Jones
would have been slated for a shite performance and 'scraping' a lucky draw.

QPR also lost an embarassing home game to Port Vale in the league cup, Warnock never got
slated. We lost at Peterboro and it was all 'same old shit tactics' - 'no plan B'

Maddest of all was the other day when someone posted that 'if we do go up it will down to the players
and not Dave Jones'

I know we all got opinions

Well thats my one :D

so who do you think would do a better job under the following circumstances?

1- Debt Ridden Club
2- was forced to sell gabb's, collins, kav, jerome, loovens, johnson, gunter, ramsey- all coz of liesdale and hamman and yet we still finished mid table
3- has made millions for this club out of pennies
4- took us to an fa cup final
5- took us to 4th place last season and to a play off final with a team with no depth and a team he was not allowed to strenghthen in january window-not even loan players like blackpool could.
6- signed bellamy-oli-koumas-keogh-convonced fowler etc
7- had to work under liesdale and was told a pack of lies and did not know where the next signing would come from due to no money and the prosepect of administration.

THE FACT IS SINCE JONSEY HAS COME TO THIS CLUB-ISNT IT A COINCIDENCE THAT THE CLUB HAS MOVED FORWARD EACH YEAR BOTH ON AND OFF THE FIELD AND MADE SOME SENSIBLE AND SMART BUISNESS MOVES WHICH JONSEY HAS BEEN APART OF. IN DJ WE TRUST-2011 WILL BE THE YEAR

Swings and roundabouts IMO, none of them have had to sell mass amounts of players and none of them have had the wage bill we have. Wouldnt want any of them at CCFC and none of them done anything to suggest they could gain promotion?

Have to say while I appreciate everyones opinion I find it quite sad that this happens to come out after one defeat in 6 and confirms DJ's points about our fans being OTT which I also agree with.

we could have won 10-0 and i still wouldnt like dave jones.

my gripe with him is not his ability as such (although i dont rate him that highly) , its his arrogance, attitude and seeming self inportance.

Questioning the manager is just ridiculous. Ccfcdoor explains it as well as I could. Seven points. Clear as the day is long.

We will go up auto atically this year. I guarantee it.

A FEW FACTS ABOUT CCFC!

this club is in a mess!! FACT it has been right through the reign of poor chairmen and directors such as the riddler and hamann, false promises, lies and pure debt.
The club remains in a mess but things are looking up. small debts are being paid and i belive that by december the malaysians will have gained futher investment so we can get rid of the likes of isaacs, paul guy and PMG for good. people who are lining there pockets at the expense of the club and its fans. yes these people gave loans in hard times to the club but only for a large reward! they are now not even helping since our malaysian friends have come in this is clear! crystal clear! just wondering when they will recive there cash. Get them out!
AND FOR F*CKS SAKE LAY OFF DJ!
this club has gone from strength to strength under his management!
we all no that axing managers without time is a bad idea look at southampton now have a complete arse of a chairmen now and pardew gets sacked after 3 games madness!!
they won't fininsh top 6 now when they were hot favourites!!
MAN city finished 5th last season had they left the underrated mark hughes in charge i've no doubt they'd have finished 4th or even 3rd!! he had a better record than mancini and still has a better record!! hes buying a team of money grabbers hughes was building a squad of decent players who he knew would do a job!! i hope the mancs owners leave that club will be the new leeds after that!!
have faith in DJ we have a squad capable of challenging this season but it don't happen overnight, let the new lads gel futher and without as many injuries we'll be laughing, leicester proved that the old guard like mcphail and rae aren't up to it hence why DJ would have sold rae to leeds. i admit we shouldn't have been banging long balls to a 5ft striker but where was whitts and burke in that game?? gotta question the players for me, without olly there was no battling confidence from anyone much of what we have seen over the years as rae/mcphail/ledley combos have been torn apart by better sides. any team of paulo sousa's will rip us apart with that lineup as swansea did last season TWICE cos they play a passing game and we are chasing shadows... tuesday looked like last season without chops n bothroyd not good enough!! when bellers and olly and drink are fit plus a fully fit koumas who had a decent game until he looked tired we will get back to form like 1st 5 games!! have faith people one loss isn't the end of the world i mean 13/18 points is great its auto promotion form so instead of slating the manager all the time get behind the boys and DJ and support the promotion charge!!
changing management aint the answer it never has been it never will be!!
why are manc red so good cos fergie has had time, i admit now they are past it and he hasn't for me got the youngsters he needs like giggs and scholes back in the day but he HAD time and given time DJ who for me is one of our best managers ever will succeed he loves the fans and the club and now he is also in charge of extra day to day running duties of the club then he can transform other areas of the club for the better!!
