How important is it to get a positive result at Preston?
It’s important we get good results in all our games. Can we continue the good work we’ve done? Being as good as we’ve been… can we get better?
If we give the effort we have given and perform as a minimum like we have in the previous games and with your main goal threat putting the ball in the back of the net - we start at Preston on Saturday.

My last game was Huddersfield and then we had the international break, we lose the majority of our players.
Everyone had a few days off and then I got asked the question, I said it would be something I would be more than happy to do if the owner wanted me to do it.
The rest is history, it all got concluded and it was nice to walk in, see the lads and tell them I’m continuing.

A big step up for you?
It’s huge. I said before, the football club is huge. It needs to get back to where it should be.
From a personal point of view, you can’t plan for stuff like this, when it’s all going to happen, it’s just about being prepared.
I did all my coaching with the FAW and I couldn’t be any more qualified for the job. I had a really good career as a player, the only thing against me is I haven’t had experience as a manager in a league team.
But you’ve got to start somewhere. Hopefully it’s the start of a really good journey. Hopefully we can do some really good things with Cardiff City.

It’s great. I can’t thank them any more. They believe in me. They put their trust in me and it’s up to me to repay that now.
Whether people want to like it or not then I must be doing something right at the minute.

Short-term goals, we need to get higher in the league. We need to do that together as a group.
It’s not about me, it’s about getting the players and the staff going in the right direction.
We need to get away from trouble and enjoy our work every single day, that’s what it’s all about.
If we can bring the fans closer to the players, anything we can do we will try and do.
There won’t be any stone left unturned until the end of the season. Hopefully it’s longer rif we are doing the right things.

As far as I know, there was an advert that went out last week that closes Friday this week to fill that permanently.
This is my job now so they need to find someone to replace me.

This is like the worst two weeks of a footballer’s life if you’re not away on international break.
We’ve worked with the other lads to pass a few more messages over.
The plus point with me, Tom and Mark staying is the fact we don’t have to reinvent the wheel now. We can just carry on from Huddersfield.

Frustrated that the break came when it did?
Momentum is everything, but on the flipside, it got us a chance to get settled in terms of getting a job secured.
It gave us the ability to take a minute and decide what they wanted to do.
It would have been a lot more frantic to go into another league game.
Some guys have gone away, other lads have had a rest. Some have had great experiences, Kieffer Moore, Joel Bagan, Mark McGuinness, lots of positives to come out of it.

He has obviously believed in what I’m asking him to do. He believes in what we are doing as a group.

He has been excellent in the games and as a striker, he has scored three in three for Cardiff, so four in four now.

It was fantastic. An excellent game and the score was about right at the end of the night.
Looking at Kieffer, getting that goal will do him no end of good and I can’t wait to have him back.

One thing I wanted to do, if I took the job, was to bring another member of staff in after losing James Rowberry.
I did my homework and he was someone I was really interested in speaking to. I made contact and he was so keen and I put it to the board. They were unanimous in agreeing that it was a good appointment.

Perry Ng on the previous regime?
Mick and Terry did a great job getting us all together, but after that there was no real change or identity or way of playing.
Moro has tried to change that and hopefully we can continue winning ways.

Surprised by the workload?
It’s difficult. I’m not really that guy, I’m quite relaxed and calm. It’s more about prioritising and handing off stuff you don’t need to worry about.
I’m inexperienced in the job but I’m 38 years old and a grown adult. I know what works for me and what doesn’t.
We’ve got really good staff. There are so many people, you’ve just got to use them all.
We’ve got a recruitment team, if we need to look at players then text them.
The most stressful time is just standing there on the sideline on a Saturday hoping it all comes together.

Steve Morison on players out on loan: ‘They can all come back in January, but it has to be right for everyone. If Ryan Wintle is going to come back and play, that’s an option. I went to watch Max Watters on Saturday. He was excellent and we’ll keep monitoring him.’

Breathe or Fresh air this bloke is, I really hope our fans get behind him as I can really see him doing well here if he’s given the time to get the squad playing the right way and more importantly a small budget next season to wheel and deal and get the right personnel as well
