Former Cardiff midfielder Joe Ledley says

Tue Nov 16, 2021 7:43 am

Former Cardiff midfielder Joe Ledley says Steve Morison has shown promising signs of turning things around at Cardiff City Stadium, but warns that there is still plenty of work to be done to ensure they don't get sucked into a relegation battle.

Morison has been handed the job until the end of the season after earning four points from the last three games, and has been joined by former Cardiff defender Mark Hudson, who has taken the role of first-team coach.

And speaking to BBC Radio Wales, Ledley says he believes Morison deserves the chance to take over, but says it it will have to be a case of seeing how things turn out, with Cardiff still facing up to a potential relegation battle.

"Steve has created a different style of play at Cardiff and it's working," said the former midfielder, who announced his retirement from club football over the weekend.

"The fans are happy and obviously the board are happy.

"It's going to be a lot of pressure on him because they are still in a relegation battle. Only time will tell - we will see how well they do."

I know Joe fancies himself as a bit of a pundit and has been on radio wales commentary a few times.
But he needs to ask himself - why bother saying that .... as it's a nothing statement, he erm started off well but has er some work to do etc and the players are erm happy etc.

Why didn't he talk about the exact style of play, give some examples of how things are different. What exactly have the kids from the U23 team bought to the performance on the pitch. Maybe a bit of match analysis - % in possession, tackles made compared to when Thick Mick was running the show. what formation does Joe think Morison should go with etc.

He wouldnt be the sharpest tool even in Dai Hunt's tool box but Joe needs to up his punditry skills or he'll find himself doing a match summary from Jenner park if he's not careful - come on Joe... time to step it up a bit. Blakey wont be panicking just yet :)

I agree; and the first thought after reading Joe's comments was "No sh#t Sherlock...!" :laughing6:

Hasn't been involved with the Bluebirds since left many years ago (noted he tried to come back for one final pay day though ;) ) so not too sure why certain media elements are now seemingly thinking he is worth approaching on the subject of (one of) his former club(s)
