It is so rare in this game that a managerial appointment is met with widespread backing.

Despite Morison not being a glitzy name and having very little experience, supporters were clamouring for him when the list of prospective candidates were thrown into the fray.

They had clearly seen enough in those three games in which Morison took caretaker charge to offer encouragement and hope, despite City managing to grab just a solitary win in stoppage time of one of the matches.

But it was more the manner in which Cardiff went about their business that got fans onside.

They also see Morison as a continuation of the good work done by the under-23s and the academy as a whole and that is a positive City fans are clinging on to and running with this season.

Given the lack of affinity City fans had with McCarthy, who typically failed to acknowledge them at Cardiff City Stadium or on the road, Morison's passion on the touchline and applause to supporters post-match have not gone unnoticed.

That is why social media lit up with praise following the club's decision to carry on with Morison at the helm. He has done everything right so far, now he has got the top job, though, Morison will have to keep the fans onside with a dramatic upturn in results.

That's when the hard work starts, but there is seemingly credit in the bank already as far as the fans are concerned.
