…. as manager although I wish Morison and Hudson the very best of luck and 100% hope they make us City fans proud of their and our team as they may do.
Reviewing Beale’s coaching experience, he has detailed knowledge of Chelsea, Liverpool and Rangers teams gained over the last 19 years, plus he coached in Brazil. He would very likely have secured their best “rejects” for the City plus he would have had knowledge/contacts of quality players.
My understanding from a reliable source is that Beale was interviewed twice by the City and but for the Villa sacking would have come to us as manager if we had made up our minds quickly. Apparently, he had agreed the appointment but in true City fashion in the manner that we are usually painfully slow in signing players often losing them to other suitors; we could not make up our minds and so lost out when Villa appointed Gerrard.
Beale would not have been expensive my source advised and he was ready to join us. My feeling is that his long coaching career at a high level would have been a better risk for us than Morison and Hudson.
But come on Steve, Tom and Mark - please prove me wrong!

You're spot on so how dare you ruin the OP's chance to be negative?

Still think being a coach at Villa is probably more appealing than being a manager at the bottom of the Championship anyway.
I would have chosen Sir Alex Ferguson, doesn't mean he'd take the job

Negativity is important in all walks of life.. otherwise you turn into a Fulham fan.
As Shaw said ‘a lifetime of happiness; it would be hell on earth’..

My choice would've been Pep Guardiola. He has a fantastic track record. Pretty sure he's won the league wherever he's been at?!

One or two 'guesstimators' mocked but not for the first time he was correct and was amongst the first to say the 'runaway bookies favourite' would not be getting the job; and so it proved...

Correct Chris,
We never approached him, it was media bullshit.
