BREAKING " STEVE MORISON TO BE NAMED CARDIFF CITY MANAGER "

Thu Nov 11, 2021 2:01 pm

Cardiff City are expected to keep caretaker manager Steve Morison in charge until the end of the season.

Morison was named interim boss when Mick McCarthy left the club last month.

Cardiff have picked up four points from three matches under Morison, with Saturday's win over Huddersfield ending a winless run of 10 Championship games.

Now the former Wales striker is set to extend his reign with assistant coach Tom Ramasut, who worked alongside him for Cardiff Under-23s.

An announcement is expected on Friday or Saturday, with the club's owner Vincent Tan believed to have been impressed by Morison.

Cardiff had also considered former Chelsea assistant bosses Eddie Newton and Jody Morris as well as ex-Rangers coach Michael Beale, who is expected to follow manager Steven Gerrard to Aston Villa.

Why the media keep saying Bellamy, when their has been NO approach at all from either side.
They did contact Neil Warnock.
NO Big names have been interviewed due to the fact NO money can be given to strengthen our squad in January.
Also I believe that Steve Morison will be given more games, even up to Xmas, which I think is fair and right :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Sorry about the duplicate post of this, just started it as you posted yours, an admin can delete mine if they would like to :ayatollah:

Fair appointment though giving the response we have seen in the 3 games he has been in charge, im sure many will be happy that he is going to get some more time in the job and till the end of the season, like the post says, you would think at least. I'm happy enough with it, not overly excited but definitely not disappointed either. If he can keep us playing with a more attacking passing style then I've no doubt most fans will give him and the team time to perfect his way of playing.

At the moment I think it does need more coaching work done on it before the team looks comfortable playing it, but can definitely see where he wants to go with his approach. I think unfortunately we dont have enough quality or pace on the ball at the minute to really hurt teams going forward so we will just have to be patient and wait till he can bring in some additions or at least players on loan back to the club.

Wish him the best and hope he does well for us this season ahead :ayatollah:

Annis absolutely brilliant, the committee have at last made a correct decision, all we want now is some money for some players, as I do not believe Dalman when he says there is none

Yes, like most I’m happy with this appointment if it’s true as it appears to be.

What I would say is that even though he’s worked a minor miracle in changing the whole playing style for the better in such a short time I hope the fans will give him the time and patience that’s needed.

We’ve still got the same players, a thin unbalanced squad and little to no experienced creative players so I don’t think we should expect too much.

For now, just keep us up Stevie boy!

Like most fans (ie. not on here) , I'll settle for avoiding relegation and not losing again to Swansea. I don't really care what style of football we play. We got promoted twice with very pragmatic teams (and nearly stayed in the Prem the second time. Attractive football is rarely winning football unless you have huge resources.

That's an interesting one, considering his history with that club.

But I'm sure he'll do well there.

Agree with all that pretty much, it is imperative that we avoid those two things, mainly not getting relegated of course but it would be dire if we not only did go down but also lose both derby games for the first time .

That being said im confident that Morison will do his utmost to prevent both those happening

On the style, quite frankly as long as we are winning games im not really bothered how we play, that doesn't mean I only care how we play when we lose but more to the fact, do whatever it takes to win every week, whatever style suits best to beat the opponent we are facing that day.

With Mick in charge the style was very linear this season and very simple to defend week on week. Neil Harris mixed and matched a bit he never quite found the balance tbh. Neil Warnock got the ball into the final third the quickest way he could and made sure we had players around to win second balls. They all had their own way, they also all had successful spells where the team did extremely well and they all had times that turned out to be their undoing. So as long as Steve Morison does he best to coach this team, I can see the players trying to play his way and working as hard as they possibly can for this club then I am happy with him in charge for the foreseeable future. :thumbright: :ayatollah:

Happy with this appointment and feel its the direction we should have gone in when Warnock left. Credit to Steve Morison, you can see what he is aiming for in the short period he has taken charge.

There are no 'easy' games in the championship but the next set of fixtures definitely look a bit kinder in terms of opposition league position.

Hopefully we can put some distance between us and the bottom 3 to take a bit of pressure off.

I think we are going to have to be patient with this transition in playing style. It's still the same unbalanced and limited squad he has to work with.

I'm sure we will get caught out and give silly goals away and have games where we don't create anything going forward but I think this is better for the club long term.

I'm hoping the club stick with it, even if things aren't going brilliantly, and Steve Morison can lay the foundations to finally see us playing a better passing game.
