Latest on Mike Flynn / Steve Morison:

Sun Nov 07, 2021 2:25 pm

Mike Flynn was invited yesterday by the CCFC Committee to attend the match v Huddersfield.

Apparently quite a few fans in the main stand shouted to him we don’t want you as manager :thumbright:

It is true Flynn was top of their list and if City had not won yesterday he was set to be appointed even though Choo and Dalman are not his biggest fans.

When City’s winner from Moore went in, Flynn immediately left.

This has halted Flynn getting the permanent job and their is a meeting this week.

All I know is Choo and even Dalman would like Tan to continue with Steve Morison as manager to the end of this season , but it’s over to Vincent Tan on the final decision.

Also many of the players have told the Coaches they want Steve Morison as manager :thumbright: :thumbright:

Pleased that Choo and Dalman want Steve Morison to be in charge until the end of the season, about the only thing I agree with them on. Can only hope that Tan listens to them.

In my view, Morison would be a far better choice than Flynn. That late winner by Moore could be an even bigger goal in our season than we thought, if it helps us to appoint Morison over Flynn.

Tan should listen to Choo and Dalman, the players and the fans by appointing Morison until the end of the season.

Says a lot that Flynn left as soon as we got the winner. Well done to those who told him they don't want him as our manager. As long as they didn't get aggressive or abusive, that's the right thing to do - best to be honest.

In fairness to Flynn, the 'winner' was in the 93rd minute and many 'regulars' had also left, as is their long-standing 'tradition' :laughing6:

Having said that, given (albeit limited) information, I am surprised he (Flynn) was a 'guest' of the club, which suggests the usual contradictory nature of any/all (again limited) information coming from within

It has crossed my mind that if Dalman and Choo don't want him, who exactly recommended and/or tried to get him in at some point in the first place?

Surely not Vincent Tan...? :?:

Steve Morison for me right now; but until Cjristmas to further test his credentials to take the job on a more permanemt basis

He's changed the atmosphere in the positive amongst the squad and the support base

The (so called) 'Committee' could just about do themselves some good right now and listen to what both the players and supporters would like

At least if it fails, which I don't think it would, at least they can pass the buck back to us...! ;) :D

If that's true shocking by our fans. Even if you arent keen on someone. We used to give everyone a chance player and manager. Gone are those days.
And no, I don't want him. There's about 5 or 6 mentioned before him I'd rather have.

It always worries me when the players want a particular manager8

Can’t imagine why Tan would want Flynn over Morison.
Does Tan even know who Flynn is,if not who’s advising him.

Morison would be a disaster on his own. Managing under 23s to a team in a relegation flight is a massive ask. He could however do well with an experienced old head beside him.

True.. although I think he’ll do a better job than Flynn. That wouldn’t be good at all.

It's more who they/some don't want...

Nothing else seems to have bothered you for the last 19 months though... ;)

get in a manager (Flynn) that doesnt the club the players or the setup and hasnt managed at this level.
OR
get in a manager that already knows the players, the setup , the players know the type of football he wants to play - and they buy into it.

So as an owner - you want employee buy in, you want motivated employees who want to work for their boss - hearts and minds are the biggest HR challenge in any business. It seems with Morison they have that battle won already.

So let him carry on and see where it takes us. Give in the task of managing the first team until the end of the season with a re-evaluation at xmas. He wont be fired - he would just move back to the U23 and we'd all carry on - and Morison would have gained from some proper management experience.

With the players and the their ability (yes they have bags of ability) we should noit be in this position. And the only reason we are is the McCarthy refused to budge

Steve Morison is the new 2/1 favourite.

The majority of fans want it from what I can see. Bringing in a lower league manager now makes no sense. Give Morrison until the end of the season!

If flynn left the second the goal went in then it just goes to show his character.

I wouldn’t even Morison a contract.. I’d just go game by game and say we aren’t in a rush to get another manager shows us what you can do

I dont know where this has come from total bullshit.... for a start the only truth about this is that yes Flynn was at the game and supporters stopped him for selfies and wanted him to take over and never heard supporters singing for him not to come to Cardiff

And he was there until the end of the game with his kids he did leave leave level 4 for level 3 but not the game and that was before the winning goal and was there until the game finished at level 3

I seen all this by my own eyes

I can only say Morison as we have changed in the last 3 games to what we were doing, that continuity has to continue now and it has to be with Morison. Who the feck knows what will happen though. I have no idea :ayatollah:

Pembroke Allan alluded to him not being disturbed or abused earlier on so nothing new from you in the grand scheme of things

Just a thought but I would suggest the only reason Flynn is being considered for the post is because of the conjecture on both noticeboards last year, speculating whether MF had the right credentials to be the next City manager.

If only we had kept our big mouths shut !

How can you make such big long-term decisions based on whether we got a late goal yesterday? If this is true then it shows the real problem at this club, a complete lack of strategy at board level.
