Here's what Steve Morison said in his post match press conference:
How's the heart rate after that? Yeah, it's fine. Really pleased. Forget about me. The lads needed that, the fans needed that. I think everyone needed that. I think I spoke about it yesterday how everyone needs that in their life right now. If you're going to do it, do it the fun way.
The roar at the end was as if you'd won the Premier League? This is why we love football, isn't it. We gave ourselves a mountain to climb with our own poor bit of play but outside of that I thought we were excellent. I said it would be hairy and scary with the way I want them to play. The fact that we dominated with possession, eventually it's going to lead to goals. Didn't think we'd take one but eventually we decided to take two.
Huge boost for Kieffer after a tough few months? It's been a tough few months for everybody, let's get that right. It's a huge boost for Kieffer going into internationals, it's a huge boost for Cardiff, its a huge boost for the city, it's a huge boost for the fans. Who is it not a huge boost for? We hadn't won for ten games and now we've won. We've won a football game in the best way, in the last minute. Everyone's happy and off the back of this, there shouldn't be anything negative happening.
Isaak Davies coming on and doing exactly what you want as a young substitute, coming on and making an impact? I thought Mark Harris was starting to tire a little bit and I just thought Isaak could add some pace. When he got on that ball in the 1 v 1 situation, he was electric over those 10/15 yards and what a cross with Kieffer there to do the rest.
If this is your last game in charge, how do you look back on these three matches? I've done eight or nine press conferences. Another day in my life. I'm a pretty calm guy, pretty relaxed, pretty organised. I make sure I don't get too high and I don't get too low. I'll get told off after this because I'm not showing any emotion. That's done now, we move on to whatever's around the corner.
What is around the corner, obviously it's a job you want? You've just said it's a job I want, I haven't said anything. It's a job I've thoroughly enjoyed doing. What's next is I'm gonna get some food, I'm starving because I haven't eaten since this morning. Then I'm gonna get in my car and drive home, enjoy my Sunday watching my lad play football over at a park. That's what's next for me.
That must feel great, with the Cardiff fans not seeing a win for so long or even a goal at CCS? Fantastic, the whole place needed it. Take the goal out of it, which was an horrendous error by ourselves, they had a ten minute spell in the second half but apart from that we dominated. I said progression was getting a win after Wednesday night and we did that.
Kieffer proved he's a top international striker by getting two goals to turn it around? He's a lot more than a goalscorer but he had two moments in the second half where he's been exceptionally good with his head.
Do you expect the club to make an appointment now before the international break, during it, after it? Your guess is as good as mine. I wasn't told that would be the case by anyone here, but I was told it by reading the press.. That someone would be in charge by Preston. I suppose we'll just have to watch this space. Lads will go off for the international break, those not on internationals who played today will have a couple of days off. Next job is the next training session unless I'm told otherwise.
Whether you're considered for the job or not, you've had a taste of club management now. Have you enjoyed it? Loved it. Been a great experience. Only as good as your last game, and we won that one. I'm a level headed guy but was pretty buzzing and over the moon at the time and in the dressing room. Now I'm calm, back to the middle ground. We'll see what's around the corner next.
What's the atmosphere like in the dressing room after that? The words were "our season starts here". My message was to thank them for taking everything on board. That's the rewards for getting better each game. I'm sure they'll have a spring in their step going into Preston.
You know Isaak really well, how much will that mean to him? If you know Isaak, he's a great kid. There's not a bad bone and his body. It's incredible, Rubin gives it to Isaak who gives it to Wales' number nine.
Were you pleased with the defensive stability? I said to the lads there was a ten minute period in the second half where Alex makes a great save and they hit the post. We got the luck and saw out that little period. Off the back of that, we're now sitting here with three points. Big players have big moments. It's not about me, it's not about Kieffer, it's about everyone. There's people disappointed they didn't start, there's people who came on and make an impact. The girls in the office, the chefs, the kit guys, the media guys, the analyst guys. It's a big cog and we all have to be turning that cog in the right direction and at the same time. Then we get results.
