' MAX WATTERS '

Cardiff City's supposedly £1mill new striker (it was actually £250,000).
My View: A lower league striker.

MAX WATTERS ON A SEASON LONG LOAN AT LEAGUE 1 MILTON KEYNES

Friday 5th November 2021

Max Watters says he hopes to keep making a positive impact after netting in each of his last two appearances.

The striker found the net in last week’s Papa John’s Trophy tie against Aston Villa Under-21s team and followed that up by scoring his second goal in as many games after coming off the bench in MK Dons’ 4-1 thrashing of Crewe Alexandra.

It takes Watters’ goal record for the season to three in nine appearances – a decent return for the near 23-year-old after an injury-affected start to life at Stadium MK.

MAX WATTERS:

“It was unfortunate to get the injury against Tottenham and be out for a few weeks,” he told iFollow MK Dons after the win at Crewe.

“It wasn't a great start but I'm nearly back to full fitness now - I just need to get on the pitch and get as many minutes as I can

“The way we play football, there are always going to be chances for me. I just need to put them away and give the Gaffer something to think about.”

Watters’ goal against Crewe - a fierce low strike through the goalkeeper’s legs - put the icing on the cake of what was a terrific away result for the Dons. While, of course, pleased to find the net, the Cardiff City man was just delighted to see the team get back to winning ways.

“It's a great feeling to score but it's all about winning,” he said. “I'm a team player and I want to do what I can do to help the team win.

“Today is a good result away from him which will give us a lot of confidence heading into next Saturday.”

Why did Dalman & Media Wales exaggerate on the fee, made out they were spending big, but in fact it made them look fools

Thursday 8th July 2021

Max Watters has today joined MK Dons on a season-long loan.

The forward joined Cardiff City in January 2021 for a reported £1m. He will remain at Stadium MK until May 31st, 2022

Likely same reason debt and income figures are always exaggerated. When it fits the story the person is telling it helps to exaggerate.

Plus may have been 250k initially and more with add ons. Wonder if we get the opposite of a promotion clause?

Neil,

I actually rang Glen regarding all these beyond exaggeration of fees and he could only say that if we don’t write Dalman etc won’t work with us.

Neil, it was done in my opinion by Dalman to make out last season we spent big when we actually never.

What we do though us spend big on people like Dalman / Choo expenses etc

It’s a strange one because if he turns out to be shit then it’s said wasted one million on him.

Nothing wrong with a bargain signing.

We signed Whitts for 350k when we had spent a lot more on a lot worse and no one was bothered about that price.

Whitts came from Aston Villa hell of a difference, compared to Watters history.

Absolutely but price wise.

We had spent more on players quite frequently.

Jacks paid £1m for Piroe. It would be good if we could spend money that wisely.
