These are the good times

Just remember we were fighting relegation a few ago from the old Div. 4

Just enjoy the ride because we have had a lot worse times than these

I was saying to a friend the other day - has the fairy tale ended?

We've spent a fair amount of time there or there abouts the last 10 - 15 years but are we now slowly going back to where we started?

A drastic thought I know but inside and out of the club there are problems and at the moment we can't see what is going to fix it apart from £££ which Tan doesn't have

That's all ancient history.the clubs been alive since the year 2000.established itself in the championship but unfortunately found it impossible to kick on further and get a football hold in the premier League.now I fear we are in free fall

Funny (or notvactually) how selective people are on our 'history'

For once, I agree with 'keano' and we've had it worse; but it doesn't mean we have to 'like' what is happening

I remember those years like yesterday Ian, 9 years in total ( over period of about11) we spent in the Dungeon league, I never missed one home or away game.

Went to Hartlepool and Darlington 9 times each, games like Halifax, Colchester, Rochdale and Tranmere were usually night away games.

The diehards were really their, and we never really moaned.

Our numbers away were sometimes as low as 50.

Gillingham in the Mickey Mouse cup away was only 11 of us.

Home gates 1,400 as low as.

But I look back a d I actually loved those days are fans and players were very close :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

My late game before I went travelling was 87 against Rochdale at home 1,200 I think. Our first season in the Dungeon.

Use to come home for R&R and worked out my leave when we were in London. We played Hayes away in the FA Cup. We lost 1-0 and all of the London firms came out to see us off. You would have thought Hayes was the biggest supporting club around looking at the reception we received outside the ground after FT.

No guarantee any club gets straight back into the championship- ask Ipswich and Sunderland fans

Ian,

Out first ever away match in the dungeon was August 1986 Hartlepool away , we left Cardiff 4am on the train , 90 odd of us took us 6hrs, we had about 650 fans their , fantastic away Support :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

1-1 and the match got stopped for 20mins due to so much fighting.

As one hour after our match finished Boro were playing in the same ground v Port Vale , madness.

BORO’s ground had been closed down, financial reasons.

Problem is we were younger and happier then, win lose or draw we would be out on the pop free and having a good laugh, we've got older and football has generally changed for the worse!

Well I'm not too sure he hold Billionaire status now but he is rich enough to put the wrong right. However, some ay he cannot do that due to FFP. I'm not sure if that bit is right or not.

With respect I disagree. I think these times are worse based on expectations.

Back in the day, we were bad, but were expected to be bad. Now, expectations are an awful lot higher and we have better players (Just about), and as such now, we know where we really should be as a club, but we are lower than a snakes belly.
