ITS A BIG NO FROM ME FOR MIKE FLYNN / CANT SEE HOW HE IS ANY BETTER THAN STEVE MORRIS WHO AT LEAST KNOWS EVERY PLAYER & THEY ALL RESPECT HIM
Watch the odds change if We beat QPR
Mike Flynn is now priced 1/2 with Sky Bet, with Morris at 9/2 and Wilder (8/1) coming back into the reckoning after drifting following reports his appointment would be unlikely.
WOW / Hmmmmmm
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=224555Beale is placed next at 9/1, with Rangers boss Steve Gerrard this week revealing he wouldn't be surprised if Cardiff and other teams were sniffing around the former Liverpool and Chelsea coach.
Caretaker boss Steve Morison is next in the running at 10/1, who once again addressed links to the permanent position after Saturday's 3-3 draw with Stoke City.
"It’s not my decision ultimately," he said when asked about his potential interest in the job.
"You have a plan in life to be prepared for anything and I have always done that.
"All I am worried about now is doing this press conference, going to have some food on the coach, driving back and having a day off [on Sunday], because it’s been a pretty busy week.

Not for me, as stories coming out of Cewnty don't paint a good picture about his management style
However, as I said in another thread, we need to give whoever is appointed some leeway until he has shown what he (possibly she) can do
Overall, I'm warming to Steve Morison and an extended time in charge (maybe Xmas window to start?) but would prefer someone like Jody Morris over Flynn, if that is not to be the case

No for me but if that’s to be I’ll still support our team.

I must admit, Flynn wouldn't be my first choice, but over Jody Morris? I think I'd prefer someone with at least a couple of seasons at manager level,if not, go with morison,at least he knows the club already.
I get the "possible good contacts" bit with Morris, but is he capable of managing these players if he gets them?

Paul, it's always a gamble (for any club not just ours) but some of things coming out of Cewnty don't paint a good picture; ironically (in our position) surrounding his man management
I might be wrong but he didn't leave Cewnty somewhat abruptly for no reason and being honest, I did initially think we were going to attempt to appoint him minus compensation due to Cewnty, which would have been underhand and surely challengeable?
With Jodi Morris, I just feel we would have a confirmed decent 'coach' with a growing reputation and maybe ready to take the next step
Swansea nearly took a punt on him and (even though we hate to admit it publicly) they don't get it wrong often; although the negatives on here will no doubt say "
Ah yes, but he didn't get it, did he?"
As I say, in the absence of Pep or Jose, I want Steve Morison to be given a decent opportunity first and I also believe we missed a trick with Steve Cooper going to Forest

No from me too. I would like Morison to be go at least until Christmas is we get say a win and draw in the next couple of games. Not quite sure why but I would prefer one of the good coach types to Flynn. He has something of the air of a lower division manager who has done well with his home town club but might struggle elsewhere at a higher level. This might be unfair on him.

Yes, me too (just after posting)
Bullying (youngsters) was a word used and what do we have a lot of in our squad...?
Sun Oct 31, 2021 1:32 pm
Flynn would be the death knell of us in the Championship.

Fair enough Chris, didn't realise he was that way tbf!!and the way our club is focusing, deffo not a good move then!! I'm all for taking a punt, but would rather we did it with Morrison then, as he is cardiff already, would he be able to get in decent players/loans, would be my main concern on that score, but I agree,we need to give whoever comes in our full backing, whether our personal choice or not!
I would have had no problem with cooper coming here either tbh.too late now though! And when Annus and a few were saying about our last win coming against forest, I said then, they had too good a squad to stay down the bottom end of table, and it seems I was right, decent manager, and they look a decent side.
Sun Oct 31, 2021 1:52 pm
I fear he has a lack of contacts apart from lower league clubs.its a no for me morison seems the most obvious if we are relying onthe youngsters he has worked with
but then again what contactsdoes morison have.
Sun Oct 31, 2021 2:30 pm
Would rather they gave it to Morison, but I wouldn't be surprised.
I said Flynn was likely to be our next manager long before Mick went, but people chose to call me negative.

Definitely no .

Mike Flynn cheated on my cousin - I couldn’t support him
For me he is not someone who has loyalty in his list of priorities
Sun Oct 31, 2021 3:37 pm
I don't know anything about his alleged shortcomings in management style whilst with County but it's difficult to argue he did a decent job there. My understanding is he left Newport County because he saw little or no progress on the club sorting out a training base. He was going to leave at the end of last season but decided to stay because promises were made about sorting out a training base. But in early September the day before they played Leyton Orient they couldn't use their usual training ground at Spytty Park he only found out that morning and had to ring around contacts to get the use Caerleon AFC ground before having to call every player to let them know. It happened again later in the month before the away game at Barrow and a week later he left by mutual consent.
That tells me Mike Flynn has standards, professional standards, and for what he achieved with County I think he will get his chance at a bigger club. That may be Cardiff City only time will tell.

Apparently he’s going to Charlton ( Flynn)
Sun Oct 31, 2021 4:09 pm
Don't cock this appointment up Cardiff City board you've done it too many times.
Sun Oct 31, 2021 4:13 pm
Flynn would be a risky appointment I wonder if he would get the respect he may need from the senior players at the City, whereas one R Morison has from his success with U23's and his tough no nonsense playing history as a tough striker ,
I'm sure Moore may well benefit from his robust striker exploits at Milwall ?

Depends if Jackson does well though as they might keep him. If they do then that’s out

Easy to spread rumours and fake news to suit a narrative. I dont want him here either.
But I certainly wont be attacking his personal life because of unproven gossip.

A no from me. If he wasn’t local I think he’d be even further down the popularity table.
Sun Oct 31, 2021 4:52 pm
I know for a fact he is extremely well liked where he lives. Got time for the whole community, is not shy to hang out to chat with locals.

I could say more but will leave it at the comments above were reliably sourced before being put out and you will note (if you open up those big blue bear eyes) little or nothing was said until the OP (not a Mod or Admin) made it public
I note you are not for Flynn and I guess it's all about the type of character supporters want in charge. However, no matter who gets the job, it's about moving the team forward in positive mode
Not for the first time, just because you are not personally aware, doesn't mean it ain't so; but you are right that you should keep your own uninformed comments to yourself until you know otherwise...

I think Flynn would be OK
Better than McCarthy, Trollope and Ole that's for sure.
