Is it me or does it seem like Harris, Bagan, Sang, Collwell, Evans etc have found their feet , and are more than up for the fight to come ?. The tougher the job the more they seem to relish the challenge. If it pans out and looks like we are in for a tough season - those players will have gained invaluable experience that will make them first team starters in years to come - so lets keep hold of them - and not let any future managers let go of them.

Talked to load yesterday at the game who blamed the senior players for our position and not the young ones. A bit harsh I thought but they did have a point. That's the best I've seen Harris play tbh and lets hope we see more of the same.

Colwill apart, it's far too early to gauge that yet (we were 3-0 down at one point and it might have been more) and a little restraint is required ahead of two more pre-international break games

Again Colwill apart, the others (maybe Harris in particular) have previously shown what they can do but remain inexperienced and somewhat inconsistent

That's not to 'knock' a group of players who can play a big part both this season and going forward; but to 'pin' our hopes on them right now is added pressure they do not need

He has a great attitude, works hard but ultimately I don't think he is a consistent Championship striker. We need another striker on loan in January as Collins is also unfortunately an inadequate replacement for Moore.

Hopefully, a run in the team will give Mark Harris the room to grow (whilst Collins is injured) under Steve Morison and he will score more great goals consistently

It's what we'd all like but he's not quite there yet... :ayatollah:

Perhaps Mark Harris feels a lot more comfortable under Steve Morison rather than he did Mick McCarthy, like a lot of the others, especially the youngsters.

I hope Steve Morison is allowed to continue beyond the 3 games :ayatollah:

Appreciate the contribution yesterday, but Harris should not be a starter at our club.

He needs to play regularly, but failed at League 2 and conference level.

Whilst an achievement to be proud of, how he got into the Welsh set up is a very strange one.

Failed is a harsh term and he has occasionally proved himself as a Championship squad player; just not one where he is consistent in front of goal. Those he does score to date, tend to be pretty good ones...

The Wales thing is easier to understand; beyond a 'key' few, there is a dearth of available players in too many positions and it's a case of seeing who might fit the style/bill

Personally, despite not being an international football supporter, I think anyone who gets the 'call up' deserves it and should be applauded

Perhaps one day we will find out he's related to Vincent though

Surely that would explain it for you...?! :occasion5:

I hear what you say and I’m not really a Harris fan but Earnie didn’t set the world alight at Greenock Morton when on loan there.

Maybe they dont feel the pressure - like older players do. The older you get the more pressure you feel - in my experience.

I would add - the only way to empower people in whatever aspect of work they do - is through delegation.
I know it's early days - but perhaps (as said) in Morison they have someone on their wavelength who they trust to be fair etc. Rather than some moldy old git , stuck in the mud attitude of someone like McCarthy. His 'methods' were clearly not working - and he didnt see fit to change. His eye has been off the ball for a while. Needs a League 2 club - where he can re live his past glories to anyone dumb enough to care.
