MY VIEW: THREE NIL DOWN,ALL LOOKED LOST AND STEVE MORISON'

Sat Oct 30, 2021 3:50 pm

MY VIEW / OPINION:

THREE NIL DOWN,ALL LOOKED LOST AND STEVE MORISON'S CARDIFF CITY CAME BACK & NOT ONLY DREW BUT SCORED THREE GOALS NOT SEEN FOR A LONG LONG TIME :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

AND TODAY WE SAW SOME GOOD FOOTBALL AT LAST :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

CARDIFF COULD OF EVEN WON THIS GAME, UNBELIEVABLE / CITY DESERVE FULL CREDIT FOR THEIR COMEBACK :bluebird: :bluebird:

Cardiff had lost 8 on the bounce and 10 from their last 11 games.

Stoke had lost their last 3 games in a row.

One goal from Cardiff;s last 8 games.

Youngster Kieran Evans makes his debut for Steve Morisons first game in charge :thumbright: :bluebird:

Four Changes:

This was Steve Morisons first game in charge, Aden Flint, Ciaron Brown and Mark Harris were all dropped to the bench.

Marlon Pack was Suspended.

FIRST-HALF: After just 9 mins Stoke City 1-0 Cardiff City (Brown)
Brown heads the hosts in front.

First 8 minutes Cardiff looked good, then bang Stoke scored and for the rest of the half Stoke controlled the game.

SECOND-HALF: 3 nil down and unbelievable what a comeback by Cardiff :bluebird: :bluebird: and football being played :bluebird: :bluebird:

STOKE CITY 3 CARDIFF CITY 3 :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:
H-T 2-0

After just 9 mins Stoke City 1-0 Cardiff City (Brown)
Brown heads the hosts in front.

17th min: GOAL! Stoke City 2-0 Cardiff City (Fletcher)
Fletcher doubles the lead after his long-range effort takes a deflection and fizzes past Smithies.

Kieffer Moore had a great chance:

Just watched that Moore chance back.

A confident Kieffer Moore would have probably scored there.

With that and the Colwill opportunity earlier, Cardiff very much look like a side low on confidence at the moment.

Fletcher is down receiving treatment. Think it was a coming together with Bacuna there.

H-T 2-0

GOAL! Stoke City 3-0 Cardiff City (Fletcher)

GOAL! Stoke City 3-1 Cardiff City ( Rubin Colwill) :bluebird: :bluebird:

GOAL! Stoke City 3-2 Cardiff City (Harris) :bluebird: :bluebird:

GOAL! Stoke City 3-3 Cardiff City (Moore) :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:
OH. MY. LORD / AMAZING :bluebird: :bluebird:

Kieffer Moore slipped Mark Harris away and he makes no mistake in netting the second Cardiff goal of the game.

Then, incredibly, moments later, Harris turns provider playing a low ball across the goal and Moore is there to tuck home.

Absolute bedlam.

84th min, Mark Harris has a goal offside

Full credit to the team for a great comeback

Woeful for 50 minutes then a different team

Colwill looks a real decent prospect, Harris made a big difference off the bench and Keiffer a handful second half

Defended much better last 30 minutes as well

Annis all I wanted today was some positively because it’s been doom and gloom recently. We certainly got that with 3 goals and quite a few good chances.
Roll on QPR :bluescarf:

I hope that we can build on this result. Morrison can now criticise and show players the errors they made without destroying the confidence of the players. The manager will hopefully understand what works and we should get more players back.

Delighted to finally have something to smile about and credit the team for fighting back. The goals from Harris and Moore were excellent too. However, the fightback does not gloss over the large parts of the game where the team were poor again Yes that's down to confidence but the midfield was truly woeful. Its a cracked record but this has to be resolved if we are to stay up. We also have to stop capitulating early in games and conceding first. This failure runs back as far as Harris. Will enjoy today but still think there is a huge struggle ahead and we will remain firm relegation contenders.

Midfield was woeful. Bacuna didn’t even touch the ball for the first 14 mins of the second half, but managed to get himself a booking.

80% of our problems start here - they don’t protect the defence, don’t support the attack, can’t pass and slow everything down.

It’s a risk but I’d like to see Colwill play in there - he has a touch and vision that could make a difference, give us some control getting the ball into Kieffers feet or to the wings. Would have to to be Ralls alongside him though as would need his energy and ability to break up play.

IF NOTHING ELSE

If nothing else Morison has himself a little piece of history after coming back from being 3 down.
Confidence boost for everyone - now lets try and play without fear for a change.

MARK HARRIS:

"We have to take this as a positive and go into the next game and start as we finished here."

I think he’d be good there too but imho he’d need to be a deep 10 with Ralls and Pack behind him.
