Flynn is now priced at 1/2 favourite. Whilst he won’t be as bad as McCarthy I’d rather take a gamble on a young manager with links to bigger clubs, such as Morris purely for the loan market if there’s no money available. But I won’t be too disappointed, as he is still young himself and has experience of managing in the football league albeit at a much lower standard.

I totally agree. I would be devastated if Flynn got the job. It would be an opportunity missed.

A Div2 manager at best.

Wondering. who the club has got into to help choose? Rob Phillips said they have appointed someone with experience to help them look for a manager.

100% agree.

Nothing against the man personally but he's had no playing or management experience at anywhere near Championship level, has done no better than ok at League 2 level and for me to appoint Flynn would be an utter and complete admission by the club that they are preparing for life in the lower leagues for the foreseeable future.

Although they'll probably come out with some bullshit about how they're still hoping for a play off place this season.

Appoint a League 2 standard manager and that's where we're likely to end up unfortunately.

Sorry, just to clarify, not saying anyone on here is 'saying' they want Morris, just thinking out loud.

Think issue with Flynn is I doubt he’d have any contacts at clubs at this level or above. Morris although not been a manager has been coaching at prem level will have contacts at Chelsea and likely other bigger clubs which could help us with the loan market

Not heard of Judy Morris but whoever she is I think I'd rather her than Flynn.

Have to say I agree, they want a young manager, which flynn is reasonably young, but would prefer someone with 0 managerial experience whatsoever, like morris, and a few others, what just because of where they were coaching in the past? Yes, they MAY have better contacts, but that doesn't mean they can manage those contacts?
My concern Is there is a division developing between us fans, and if the choice isn't the one they want, whoever comes in is facing an uphill battle from day one? Stop blaming the "regime"(I hate that term) and using these tough times to use anything at all to have a go at them, let them make their choice, I will as always get behind any new manager, and if we are going for someone with 0 mangerial experience, I'd rather morison if I'm honest, at leat he's cardiff!! Knows the club, certainty knows the youngsters and their capabilities (if played in right position ) half of me is hoping he wins the next three, but for two reasons, one, it will undoubtedly lift the mood of the fans, and thus the club in general, two it will maybe show he is capable of stepping into the hot seat, at least until say January, and if he keeps a good record, till seasons end, then when we stay up, re assess how he, and importantly the club see things going forward.

I have a feeling he will not be here longer than the 3 games, for 2 reasons, firstly the u23's are doing exceptionally well this year, winning 7 from 7, and this can be attributed to him.maybe the club would prefer him to continue the good work with them? As they have stated they want more homegrown players in the squad/team, and we're looking towards that happening.which when I look at it, makes sense, more sense than promoting him straight to the 1st team as manager? If he wins 3 from 3, the club does have a habit of jumping the gun with a contract (MM) So cannot rule that scenario out completely.

I think the club will appoint someone else as full time manager, my one caveat I'd like , is a rolling one year deal, whoever comes in, we cannot keep turning over well paid mangers, who we end up having to pay off, due to piss poor results, costing us millions in the process, the ethos now has to be the right one.
Until different, our new manager gets my full support, even if it is to be for three games only

I'm of the same opinion.However he seems to have his head screed on the right way.

If we had given it to Flynn 6 weeks ago that is one thing as I think his record is ok albeit it at one club.

However with all of the applicants we have had (allegedly) and the quality of some of them (allegedly) he is no longer the best candidate.

If it comes down to cost, then I can see why he would be preferred over Wilder as an example, but he can’t be cheaper than the likes of Morris, Beale etc surely?

Therefore if he does get it then it feels like this was always the plan…but why not do it weeks ago.

Speaking of clowns

Morison - has experience of managing a team - albeit the U23 team. Flynn - fair play has some experience at lower league and fa cup runs etc.

Morison knows the players - they know him and at some stage they have probably had a game or to un the U23s.
The players know Morison - they all seem to speak highly of him (I know they wouldn't say otherwise in public). But the post match interview with a couple of players - you could tell they enjoyed it and want to give SM the best chance of the job.

See how it goes now for the next 2 games..... the problem is - Morison will have then had a taste of first team management and will want to test himself. We could well find ourselves in the situation of him being offered a club elsewhere - and then he's gone.

This time I think I would rather appoint from within and then possibly appoint a director of football to lend a hand - someone experienced - but who knows they are here to help Morison etc. Just my 2p worth.

I'm not as anti-Flynn as others on here but he certainly wouldn't by my first choice, in fact he wouldn't be in my Top 5 !!

My preferences in order would be:

1. Wilder (won't happen, I know !)
2. Beale
3. Morris
4. Morison
5. Hughton

All with the following poviso: if Morison get 4/6 points in the next two games he jumps to number 2 because if we're gambling on a younger experienced manager I'd rather have him. He has a knowledge of the players and club and we can build from there.
