' Cardiff City New manager '

Fri Oct 29, 2021 9:39 am

With over 50 now applicants for the Cardiff City's managers job ( mainly assistants at other clubs and ex footballers who want to start their managers careers off)..

Steve Morison has been given a minimum of three games in charge, personally I hope he does well as young, ambitious, knows our players and plays good football :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

THE POSITIVES & ATTRACTION OF BECOMING THE NEW CARDIFF CITY MANAGER :thumbright: :bluebird:

CARDIFF CITY :bluebird:

!. Massive Club
2.Brilliant stadium
3.Massive fan base
4.Championship Club
5.Still everything to fight for to stay up
6.Next June 10 players will be out of contract and many over paid and past their sell-bye date.
7. Some great youngsters coming through.
8.Excellent coaches from U23's down to support the first team
9.Cardiff City & Most of Wales are crying out for success and are fully behind the club
10.Great training set up.

Their are probably many more reasons why :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

I am not going to go in to all the negatives, just a couple of big worries.

1.NO Money available
2.Tan now does not have a good reputation and to many have now said he interferes to much.
3.It will be with a new manager 11 managers in 11 years, that will worry many, No stability at our club.

OPINIONS?
4.The board / Committee above are clueless on football and yet seem to interfere way to much and having joker as a CEO is not good.

Annis, you could use this post as a sales brochure for the club, a new owner would get all the great things the club has and get rid of the inept, disinterested trio. It baffles me that no top quality buyer isn’t gagging to enjoy the ride with us

Thank you Tim :thumbright: :bluebird:

In all honesty, I can’t say too much but there really are buyers out there. It’s over to Tan.

A good post from Annis. It makes nice change from continually Tan bashing.

The season we got promoted under Warnock when the players, management, fans and board all pulling together as one proved what a great club we can/could be

Apart from a couple of major mistakes I personally think Tan has been a decent owner. However, it’s time for a complete change at the top and we need a new owner or more investment

Not sure that’s going to happen any time soon though

Dai Hunt ?

Dai Hunt

Would he be on the list of positives or negatives ?

I did hear on the qt that he has applied (last like he has done on every other occasion - they should at least give him an interview)

And seemingly, therein lies the problem, if as it looks, the owner has lost interest/ambition for the club...

Totally agree ...
Total changes needed at all managerial levels.

Chris, I can’t see any proof that the owner has lost interest in our club.
He continues to fund us and keep us afloat.
Of course he may be looking to sell the the right people but that’s a different matter.

Paul, I did say "if" and appreciate what you say

Clearly, VT is putting money into the club at an alarming rate and that is to be hugely appreciated/respected

The issue for me is the silence from the owner himself to clarify his situation and/or the way forward. I feel a direct statement would help the situation/mood greatly

Mehmet Dalman certainly appeared to be breaking rank in his (rare) speech last week and VT cannot have been happy with some of what was said?

My understanding is that the club would be sold to the right buyer at the right price but that certain buyer(s) would not be considered for reasons well discussed?

Yes mate I agree about the selling part.
Also your right, never mind the greasy Dalman, I think it would be so beneficial for everyone involved if Tan would come out and do an interview or make a statement for sure.

I think the negatives will only put off the very few who have a choice of clubs which is basically Chris Wilder at the moment. For the rest the huge increase in salary from being a coach or out of work will mean they won't worry to much about uninterested owners or indifferent chairman and for the coaches there is the chance to manage a club. That said Chris Wilder is the obvious choice.

Hope Morison (with one 'r') does well, it would get us out of a hole.

This is completely new ground for Tan, after 10 years flirting with the Premier league, relegation to League 1 is staring him in the face and his 2 part-timers are acting like rats deserting the sinking ship, Dalman appears to say that choosing a new manager is nothing to do with him. Morrison, more by luck than judgement, has a golden opportunity, the Stoke game, regardless of result, will be an indication that by changing tactics to one’s that players buy into and putting those players into their correct positions, that we have a chance of beating the drop. Before the Bournemouth game we have 9 games that realistically, if Morison can get it right, we can get a result.

Sorry should be Morison with 1 “r”

I think Tan knows whatever he says will be picked apart therfore he remains silent, he funds us, and gives his management team advise and thoughts , together they then act upon those views .

Why are we losing money. Our team and squad can't be the highest in efl.

I say give Steve Morrison a go, he brought through the youngsters, knows how to play to their strengths, young manager with something to prove not frightened to change things either
