The new manager has time - and will be excited by Cardiff project
Former Liverpool and England man Danny Murphy said on talkSPORT this week that Cardiff are 'a big club' with 'super supporters, travel everywhere watching them'.
As such, Murphy reckons, there will be lots of managers keen to jump into the Bluebirds hot-seat.
Which there are, of course.
Choosing the right man will be key. Do City go young and dynamic, something the Board appear to be leaning towards, or do they take a greater risk-free approach with an experienced old hand?.
Whoever comes in, Cardiff's view, rightly or wrongly, is that these players are way too good to be relegated and that the new full-time manager will quickly turn results around.
The Bluebirds were in freefall under Neil Harris last season and appeared to be hurtling towards relegation, before Mick McCarthy rode to the rescue for a while.
He arrived towards the end of January. Cardiff's next manager will have two extra months to transform the team's fortunes.
Time is on Cardiff's side, with well over half the season still to be played out when he arrives.
When he does, he will be excited about the Cardiff project. Magnificent stadium, great training base, wonderful fan base, as Danny Murphy declared.
Yes the lack of money will be a massive hindrance to some, it is apparently putting off Chris Wilder.
It will others, too.
But there's still an awful lot to like there. The foundations are in place - the new manager just needs to get a tune out of the team and start unlocking the club's potential.
