Anthony Barry is the latest name to be linked to the vacant managerial position at Cardiff City.
Barry, aged 35, is currently a first team coach at Chelsea and is also a part time coach with the Republic of Ireland's national team.
He is in charge of all of the set pieces for Chelsea.
He joined Chelsea when Frank Lampard was manager and Thomas Tuchel decided to keep him at the club.
Tuchel has previously described Barry as a "top coach".
When it was announced that Barry had taken on a part time coaching role with the Republic of Ireland national team, as well as his position at Chelsea, Thomas Tuchel had this to say:
He said: "You (Ireland) can be very happy, you are lucky because he is a top coach Anthony will join you and your coaching staff.
"We didn’t know him before. He was already here under Frank (Lampard), like Joe (Edwards) as well. Anthony was from the first moment a big part of our coaching team because first of all he is a fantastic guy, a fantastic character, very open, very friendly and he has top quality and analysing games and giving his opinion.
"He is very experienced. I feel him very comfortable on the pitch when he is in charge of exercises. He’s very comfortable in front of the group. He is in charge, the specialist, for all set-pieces so he’s doing video sessions, training for set pieces and he is the assistant for any other exercises which is a pleasure to have him around.
"We absolutely don’t want to miss him and so good for you guys. He will increase the level of coaching because he has top quality and is a top guy."

Why have coaches at clubs, suddenly become in trend as the next big World Manager?
I'm not really sure on all these types of names, maybe the Chelsea Kit Man could have a go or the tea lady?
Yes great a Manager thinks he's a good coach, but this is a Management vacancy, the two jobs are very different?
Sign Wilder up !!!

It's all well and good saying "sign Wilder up", but he's made it clear he doesn't want the job.
Exactly the same as last time, when people were demanding we "sign Eddie Howe up".

Yes just seen that, we don't know if it's true or not though?
If it is move on to the next, but we don't have to drop down to a dead ball coach at Chelsea, this is a tough job and a very important appointment.

Surely its obvious that someone who is a good coach at set pieces would not automatically be good manager sounds a bit like a one trick pony. Am begining to fear our next manager may be residing in the bottom of a barrel.

Similarly he could turn out to be a great coach and in ten years time be managing a top five Premier league team.

Who knows, we can't really afford to take a gamble like this, it's almost certainly a non story as he won't get the job.
I would prefer Steve Morison, he seems to be saying the right things and is already at the club and closer to the players, he'll get a little three game live on the job interview. lets see how he gets on with no long term contract or tie in ?

To be fair, I agree with your general point.

All we see are young up and coming coach names or number 2's presumably because there cheaper than the Howes or Wilder who if they come will want huge investment, if the clubs policy is to push on with the development of our young U23/18 known talent giving the job to Morison is better than an unknown??

What about Eva Carneiro the former Chelsea physio she'd certainly raise morale?

There's a local painter in the Chelsea area, he does odd jobs at the ground and is well connected , I wouldn't brush off or gloss over his chances .

"WE SEE" Is that the same as what the club see? A rediculas amount of applications if true... can only assume the fact we are aiming to promote academy players is attractive to the younger coaches... which is probably better than a dinosaur or defensive minded manager have been subjected to for years.
