“ CCFC Chairman Dalman Today “

Mon Oct 25, 2021 2:59 pm

CCFC Chairman on TalkSport now.

Talking about the meeting that took place Saturday.

Dalman reiterates that Cardiff aren’t rushing the appointment and that he believes our players are good enough. Doesn’t really say anything new and unexpected.

Dalman did say that he always enjoys communicating with the fans which is a touch ironic considering we haven’t really heard from him for a long time.

More Dalman: ‘We have a transfer committee, but if you have a really strong manager, like Neil Warnock, they seem to break the transfer policy. Emiliano Sala is an example. The Board were not supportive of paying that sum, but he went over our heads to Vincent.

“If we lose the Sala court case, this club will be in real trouble.”

Dalman says squad is 'too good' to be where they are

Mehmet Dalman believes the current group of Cardiff City players are "too good" to be where they are at the minute and hopes for a dramatic turnaround when the new manager is appointed.

The Bluebirds chairman insisted the club will not rush the implementation of a new manager, hence we understand interim boss Steve Morison will be afforded three matches before any decision is made.

And Dalman believes the players will respond after the new manager is in place for the Preston game.

"We are not going to rush, we have got a good interim manager in there, Steve Morison," Dalman told talkSPORT on Monday.

"We will take our time.

"We need a turn around. The bunch of players we have are good enough, they are too good to be where they are today.

"I'm sure we will see a response from them."

Former England international turned pundit Danny Murphy then chipped in to say that Cardiff is a "big club" with "super supporters", making it an attractive prospect for any manager.

"Big club, it's not that long ago they were in the Premier League," said former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder Danny Murphy.

"Super supporters, travel all over watching them.

"So, yeah, there are a lot of good coaches who are unemployed."

And for now Steve Morison interim manager

10 months ago we signed a 4th division striker for £1M who barely played and was sent out on loan. This was in the middle of the pandemic with no-one going to games. Whose idea was that? If it was Tan and he gets a say in footballing matters wouldn't he expect to see the lad playing? Would he be happy that player was sent out on loan?

Also, if Choo and Dalman had okayed Sala then would Tan's input have been needed?

Does Tan have any idea how teams play below first team level? Wouldn't he want them to play the long ball game too?

Dalman answers a question and three more spring up afterwards.

I do remember Tan signing the decorator

Sorry to be a bit thick but who’s the 4th division striker?

I thought the transfer committee at the time were Choo, Tan, Warnock and Dalman in which case it was 2-2 so it was hardly Warnock going over their head. And what has that got to do with the court case ! He seems to be trying to link it.

And as we only went down by 2 points its likely that Sala, whether he was worth 13 million or not, would have made the difference. Three or four goals from him probably would have kept us up.

Dalman is like an MP and changes every story every time and promises.

And therein lies his football knowledge.

"too good to be where we are"

This is probably the poorest, and definately the smallest City squad I have known in almost 50 years.

Mehmet, if you wanted to deflect in any way from your " No money in Jan, no money next year" quote then it's failed. If your struggling to do your job then, go, take the whole board with you and let someone else take over.

it is far from the worst squad we have If we go back to Phil Neal and Osmond days we were really shit Think you are over playing this a bit We also have a much lever squad than we did in the 80s

I believe relative to the league in which we are playing, it is pound for pound the worst squad, but understand and accept your reasoning.

I agree that on paper it isn’t the worst squad but it’s the lowest we’ve had whilst playing in the 2nd tier as you say.

I just don't get this Warnock going over our heads to Tan thing. Transfer committee is the three wise men plus incumbent manager. That's four. Surely if manager and Tan agree to sign someone that two outweighs the two muppets? Clearly if Dalman and Choo chose a player they want to sign that's not going to happen if Tan and manager don't want to. It also does seem as if we have had a director of football afterall; a 69 year old Malay who also owns the club.

Ain't that the truth? The invisible man suddenly has a lot to say - I'm surprised he could remember where we were.

I don't believe a word that he says.
