Interesting Cardiff / Swansea this season:

Swansea City's average match possession of 64.5% is the highest of any side in the Championship so far this term while they boast the league's best pass success rate of 85.3%.

On the flip side, Cardiff City have an average of 47.5% possession per game while their pass success of 64% is the second lowest in the division.

The key statistic which highlights the stark contrast between the way the Swans and the Bluebirds comes in the air.

Cardiff win, on average, 39.1 aerial duels per game, which is comfortably the highest in the league so far this season while Swansea's tally of 14 won per game is the lowest.

Only two of Cardiff's 12 league goals this season have been scored from a player's boot, with both of those efforts coming from Wales international Rubin Colwill in a 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest.

So, you get the idea.

And, such is the joy of the beautiful game, bossing certain stats columns doesn't guarantee success, as Swansea found to their cost earlier this year when Aden Flint's header proved enough for Mick McCarthy's side to emerge victorious at the home of the Swans.

But it does mean Swansea know exactly what to expect when they host Cardiff on Sunday, as Ben Hamer explains.

"I'll have my tin hat on, as will the rest of the boys," said the Swansea goalkeeper.
