Sky Sports:

View how the season has gone so far from a Cardiff fan:

Tom Phillips, View From the Ninian

How is your season going?

3/10.We started well with some good results, but it papered over cracks. We've been found out recently and it's no surprise we've lost five on the spin. It's not been good enough.

How is the manager doing?

It couldn't be much worse for Mick McCarthy. He's lost pretty much the whole fanbase. Strange team selections, boring football and no rapport with fans. He could be gone in weeks.

Best player so far?

Ryan Giles. Despite being a young loan signing, he seems to be our only creative spark. He's a brilliant crosser of the ball and his service to Moore and Collins will be key.

Hopes for the rest of the season?

The Championship is so tight we could still make the play-offs, but a lot has to change first. If we carry on with our current form, we'll be closer to the bottom than the top.

Predicted finish? 13th.

13th sounds a little optimistic to me!

Not sure the manager is being given a fair crack here. His hands are tied as far as bringing in new players and I think most managers would struggle with this squad.A poor result Sunday mind would put him right up shit creek as it did with his 2 immediate predecessors.

Surely MM & TC can’t be doing anything different to when they were on a brilliant streak and all was rosy so why aren’t anyone concentrating on the players not performing at the previous level?

MM didn’t pick such a defensive team when we were playing well....look at WBA game.
He nailed himself to a wall with that selection and tactics ....I agree some of the players form has dropped off a cliff but it seems MM and TC have lost the confidence of the players...

Can’t argue with any points made to Sky..,.think they are spot on

Maybe because this season's squad lacks both creativity in midfield and wingers. How can anyone really blame our strikers (which some do) when they have so few opportunities created?
How can anyone blame players when they are being played out of position?

Fair assessment apart from us finishing 13th, I'd happily take even 18th at this point.
As for MM, well playing 5 centre halves in a wing back formation that night against WBA was plain stupidity.
Boring football, questionable tactics and use of players, and absolutely no connection with the fans.
For me he has to go now before it's too late. :bluescarf:

Agree with that other than 13th is looking a bit to heady heights but football can change quick. Let's hope we as a club don't wait too long again like we did with harris

Loads different.

Ng and Bennett wing backs were providing effective width.

Murphy, Ojo, Bacuna, Wilson were occupying the two roles behind Moore and were using a high press and when they had the ball were doing good stuff with it. They also had space to play with due to the width being offered by Bennett and Ng. Wilson also was frequently double marked as the opposition were terrified of him.

Moore was having chances Created for him and was confident and scoring.

Defence and midfield were functioning effectively.

Team was confident.

Sadly we are now lacking a lot of that. Aside from letting players leave he had a choice about Some is the players but most is circumstances beyond control really.
