Middlesbrough boss Neil Warnock admits he's an admirer of former Burnley star Robbie Brady, but has stopped short of saying whether he would make a move at this stage.

Brady is a free agent after leaving the Clarets earlier in the summer, and was briefly linked with a reunion with former Norwich City team-mate Russell Martin at Swansea.

Those links were seemingly played down by the Swans boss, and Warnock has similarly offered little indication of an imminent move.

However, he admits he's an admirer of the midfielder, who has been heavily linked with Celtic as well.

He said: “I didn’t see us linked with him, if I’m honest.

“Robbie Brady is a tremendous left-sided player with stacks of ability.

“I was surprised when he left Burnley. In fact, I think he was offered a new contract, so I’m not sure his agent has got it right for him.

“We are looking for that type of player on that side, out of contract.

“But you’ve got to be so careful because players like that won’t have been involved in any training with a squad and they’ll be behind. They’ll be training on their own.

“It’s all right looking, but unless the right one comes along, we’ll have to just muck on with what we’ve got.”

While I agree that he's got plenty of ability but my concern is that he has come from Burnley where Sean Dyche seems to have a very good relationship with his squad. So what's going on as they normally either stay there or get sold on?
