WOW: Suddenly we have a small squad
To many youngsters
For two months Mick Spouted this, exactly like Neil Harris Harris:
Strength in depth , Positions plenty of them also a squad full of quality.
We need to play more of the youngsters, 10 of them brought in to squad.
TODAY MICK SAYS:
MICK McCARTHY:
Availability for the Reading game?
"We are alright. We have a small squad of about 22 players and most of them are OK."
The youngsters?
MICK:
"I didn’t think I’d have a squad of only 22 with some of the youngsters we’ve got in the squad. But that’s how it went.
"Some have come in and done well, but i never thought i would have to have this many youngsters."
"It’s a lot easier to come in and do well as a youngster when you’re winning games. When they’re having to be relied upon it’s tough for them."
"I don’t criticise any of them, we’ve got to encourage them and get the best out of them." - McCarthy

He wasn't saying that a few weeks ago.

In his defence. Back in his day we didn’t have the Internet and transcripts of previous interviews where he contradicted himself totally.
Harris started doing this towards the end.

Too late for that.
It’s why Warnock worked so well. Honesty.

I get the feeling that after towing the party line Mick is being made to walk the plank and if he's got a wiff of this he might finally saying just what he thinks.

I don't think he is going anywhere.
There has probably been a stern exchange of views with Choo and Dalman and the truth we all knew is coming out. It is a young squad, we are rolling the dice a bit, we need to see out this season to get the older underperforming, overpaid, experienced Warnock players out of the squad, but we must stay in the championship. (the last bit is just my view)
Playing 5 centre halfs is almost negligent. If you continue to do that after the results then he deserves to be sacked without compensation and take it to court.
I don't think he will, he is a proud man and he wouldn't want it to end like that, even his TV gigs could be in jeopardy as he'd be the man who totally lost the plot with defensive football.
Smithies, Flint, Morrison, Pack, Ralls, Bacuna have really only plied their trade in the championship. Kieffer is an international, we have great hope for Colwell and I guess Wolves have it with Giles. We are a mid table team, just Mick hasn't got to panic

A lot has changed quite quickly....Mick saying he was happy with squad....players like Morrison saying we were aiming top 6 ( which I realise they have to say) bit are now very quiet .
Experienced fans have seen it all before but maybe the difference is we have tasted Prem football on a couple of occasions in recent seasons so expectations have changed.
So if we aren’t good enough to get promoted then atleast give us a style of play worth paying to watch and build for the future .
Under the current manager , we have neither .

For me we know there’s obviously no money in the club, tan is not going to put any more in either. Personally I would rather the club come out and say we are going to change our strategy over the next 3-5 years we are going to bring through the kids through and bleed them through with the senior players, so that we know the expectations. If that means we are then a mid table team for the next amount of years at least we know the situation…. However this does not mean I feel we stick with Mick

If you listen very carefully ...can you hear it ?
I can hear the scratching sound of a barrel being scraped from the bottom.
I dont think Tan will get rid of him yet though

Tan is the problem not any of our managers unless managers get support they are not getting a fair chance

valleyrambill is right - the problem is Tan and his sidekicks. Question: you sack MM who do you replace him with??????? Nobody who could get us back on course will take this job, imagine the new boss going into Tan's office this Christmas, how much cash have I got for the January transfer window boss? Answer "close the door behind you bloody idiot. MM is the best person to fight us out of this mess, that's until somebody young and modern comes available when we are safe.
Tan keeps going on about he's bankrolling the club (3.5 million a week) 12 players out, 3 players in, not a single transfer fee paid out, and what about the parachute payment??? 3.5 million, he must have David Copperfield for bookkeeping.
