A forum for all things Cardiff City

A lot of whispers that Michael Flynn is probably leaving Newport to take over at Cardiff City.
Obviously could just be bullshit.
But would you be happy if this happened?
Personally I think he's exactly the sort of manager we should be appointing and probably should have appointed him after Warnock left.

I think it's just fans putting 2 and 2 together.
A lot of people also saying he wants a break. I cant see him coming and i hope we go for someone a bit bigger than him tbh

I voted no but the truth is I'm not sure would be the answer right now, which is why I'm not as '
Mick Out' as some others
I think any additional 'pressure' Mick is under will stem from the politician's self-preservation rather than that of us supporters
I still maintain we need a definitive statement of intent from Vincent Tan...

I get your point Chris but once the fans turn on the manager like some of our's have, it's very hard to win them over again.
It's also very difficult to get results again after a run like this.
Even if we win on Saturday, all this will happen again when we lose another game unfortunately.
Obviously, I hope he proves me wrong. I don't think he'll go at the moment, if I'm being honest, so he will have the opportunity.

I want Morison to be next.
He is already a year into a project with his work with the under 23s. Could keep that going while pushing that onto the first team.

Yes Chris we do need that statement off VT.
The one thing I will say is that Flynn was the one who recommended NG to city

to be honest i'd like to see mike flynn or gareth ainsworth, but not whilst the current crop of shite are at the club as they could ruin their careers.
now if either came in and shoved 7 of the crap to the stiffs and never picked them and played some of the kids, or bring in some loans, then yes, get one of them in.
but the brains trust will no doubt have other ideas due to their superior knowledge of football!

Cheers, Ned
Of that (our totally unforgiving fans) I totally agree and I can't remember the last manager to fully win usvover?
Maybe the legend Eddie May but IMHO no one since who hasn't had his long-term detractors

Which 7 out of interest? Taking 7 players out of this team relegates us there is no doubt about that and would Flynn attract quality to the squad?

No, what's he done same with Ainsworth...Just not get sacked.
Go and find the next big thing. He may be in Portugal, German tier 2, Scandinavia, Austria but one thing i know is he is not 15 miles down the road.

Exactly as I see it and given the number of high earning players out of contract at the end of the season it seems absolutely the right time to go in a different direction.

I'd love to believe the guys we brought in from Arsenal and Southampton have said to the owners this is crap, let these players go and free up 10 million a year in salary for a rebuild. Mick is never the man for that job but just keep us in the league until we can find the next Farke, Frank, Potter....
I want a DOF who gets the club/area. The first team coach is just a role within that structure, he'll get paid more than his boss (the DoF) but the DoF gives us stability, direction and longevity. You still have the CEO and chairman but the DoF is part of that SLT.

I mean it's 50/50 really if he ever entertains the job with us but you never know.
1 Scenario which could happen is that Mick walks after the reading game and flynn comes in in time for the Swansea game during the international break so he gets to know the team.
So anything can happen but in the back of Micks mind is that he will walk away regardless after reading after the matches against Blackburn and West Brom.

Be nice to have ambition rather than look for a cheap option. We’re a big club and I think a lot of young ambitious managers would jump at the chance…..,

What have we got to lose, I wouldn’t mind Flynn or Morison personally but we need to take a different direction to where we are going now as we’re going nowhere fast with this management team and players to be honest.
