Cardiff are unbeaten in their last six home league games against West Brom (W2 D4) since losing 2-0 in October 1974.
West Brom have won one of their last eight league games against Cardiff (D4 L3), a 4-2 home win under Slaven Bilic in October 2019.
Cardiff City have lost four of their last five Championship matches (W1), one more than they lost in their previous 26 (W12 D11 L3).
West Brom’s Karlan Grant scored their two goals in their 2-1 win over QPR in their last match – Grant had only scored once in his previous 27 league appearances before netting that brace.
Cardiff manager Mick McCarthy hasn’t faced West Brom in the league since February 2012, his last game as Wolves manager, a 5-1 defeat at Molineux.

I was there that day, the great Johnny Giles played for West Brom.
But it could have been so different... Our own Johnny Vincent, took the ball into their penalty area, rounded their keeper and, from the centre of the goal got too excited and blasted the ball over an empty net.
That evenings Football Echo ran the headline " Oh Johnny, what a costly miss"
