ONE BAD GAME

Wed Sep 15, 2010 12:29 am

I just got back from Leicester and yes it wasn't the best game. Both teams didnt really create many chances.

But with the players we have out and the like of Keough and Koumas who havent played much, i thought we did alright.

We are going to lose games along the season. So what!

If you said to me we would have 13 points from 18 and 2nd in the league I would of taken it.

We got some tough games coming up and with players coming back and fitness getting better I have no doubt we will stay in the top 2.

One defeat never hurt. Look forward to Saturday and 3 points.

It's irrelevant fellas - we had half a team out tonight! Are we gonna have half a team out for the whole season? No, and definitely not our six best players :( :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Spot on mate, we have to accept we will play badly sometimes and lose some games, especially away from home and wehn we have 5 of our best players out at the same time !!!!

It's going to be tough when we lose Jay or Ollie, but both together is going to make things really tough. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Bellamy cant physically play 2 games per week , Bothroyd is a wuss and somebody has posted on here that Drinkwater has a persistant thigh problem .

This one bad game shows that we cannot afford to have Oli and H20 out. With ONE out, we can still defend. With both out, we haven't got a chance.

Oli and H20 are vital to keeping the goals out. This has proved that.

By the sounds of things, the usual story of McPhail/Rae has happened, and as both as piss poor, we aren't exactly gonna get a brilliant defensive game (Considering we have Hudson and Gyepes in the middle).

Our fans have always been the same let's be honest, we think we are the best in the world one day and the worlds worst the next day.

6 best players?

Bellamy, Bothroyd, Ofa and Chopra maybe. Who else was out? I'm not sure I would put Drinkwater above Burke or Whittingham. McNaughton has to be up there too.

Probably stretching it to say the 6 best but to be fair to Drinkwater he was the best player on the pitch at Pompey :ayatollah:

It was a bad day at the office, for sure, but no-one ever won the Championship in September.

Come next May I am sure we will all be looking forward to Premiership football.

We have the right people in charge. We have further investment possible - and we have possibly the best squad in the league.

It was unlucky that we had 6 first teamers out last night (Somebody suggested £25m worth of talent?). It was also unfortunate that these players were out when we were due to play last seasons Play Off contender away from home - A team also with a score to settle!

This wont happen every week and I for one will be very surprised if we dont hit 90 points this season.

Nice to see people with some perspective :ayatollah:

We got beat fairly and squarely last night, without Bellamy, Jay, Oli and Drinkwater. 4 of our most vital players really.

I can only echo what has been said. It's not the end of the world and a fairly organised team who will more than likely be playoff contenders at the end of the season struggled to beat a Cardiff team that lacked half of its first team. It's not a disaster. It's disappointing but let's forget about it and move on.

Alright, fair point I had five in my head but typed six, lol. I wouldn't put him above those two but I would say he is our second best legit center mid and his energy in the middle has proved important to the team and the way we play. I'd put him above rae for sure and probably mcphail. I count Koumas as an attacking mid. Ideally we'd be playing him in the hole of the front man but it doesn't seem to be workign at the moment, but that's a tangent.

Here's how I rank the players in order of importance to the team:

1. Jay
2. Bellamy
3. Oli
4. Whitts
5. Drinky
6. Chops
7. Burke
8. McNaughton
9. Naylor
10. Keogh
11. Matthews
12. Riggott
13. Gypes
14. Heaton
15. Marshall
16. Hudson
17. Kou
18. Blake
19. Jarvis
20. McPhail
21. Wildig
22. Rae
23. Quinn
24. Taiwo

Yes, from what I've seen of him I think Heaton's better than Marshall.
