Its hoped Tomlin will be fit now by the end of October.

The Opposition's Manager - Scott Parker

Scott Parker was appointed as Bournemouth's manager this summer.

He has made a solid start there, with Bournemouth still unbeaten in the league.

Before that, he was manager of Fulham for over two years.

He took over in February 2019, initially as caretaker, in a season when Fulham were relegated from the Premier League.

He succesfully guided them straight back to the Premier League the following season, via the play offs. They beat us in the semi finals before winning against rivals Brentford in the final. They had finished fourth.

Last season, Fulham were relegated again from the Premier League. However, they were believed to be keen to keep Parker.

But he decided to leave the club and take over at Bournemouth.

He also had a decent playing career. He played for Charlton, Norwich, Chelsea, Newcastle, West Ham, Tottenham, and Fulham - as well as having 18 caps for England.

Opposition Dangerous Players

Dominic Solanke has already scored five league goals this season and scored 15 in the Championship last season.

Jaidon Anthony has made a strong start to the season, with two goals and three assists in seven league games.

Philip Billing is also a dangerous player.

Previous Meeting

We won 2-1 at Bournemouth in February.

I don't often put negative posts but I believe that we will be outplayed on the deck and keeping the score down will be difficult.

I don't like Parker's smug facial expressions when he is stood in his technical area and would love us to get one over on him.
I also think the 3 teams (Fulham, Wba,and B'muff) will be in a mini league for automatic and break away soon.
The Premier league is becoming more of a closed shop now than ever before resulting in so called yoyo teams.
We are not one of those unfortunately and will have to rely on play offs each season as our only hope of getting back.
There is nothing wrong with being a consistent Championship club and that is I believe where we are now long term.
As a prediction goes a Bournemouth win by 2 clear goals but I hope I am wrong, come on Bloooobirds win another football match.

TEAM NEWS: :bluebird:

Still not recovered Isaac Vassell & Lee Tomlin and both still not even fit for U23 duty, never mind first team duty.

Joe Ralls, pulled his groin last Friday up at the Vale.

Ryan Giles, had been "coughing and spluttering" and is now at home and such is life in a Covid world.

Leandro Bacuna limped off before Forest game began and is likely to miss the Bournemouth game like he did the Coventry game.

Thankfully Mick McCarthy said:”We have plenty of strength in depth in this squad and we are not hindered by the injuries.” :thumbright: :bluebird:

We have neither the pace, nous, experience or skill to trouble a decent team like Bournemouth.

We need Ralls, Giles, Bacuna, Vassell and Tomlin back into the squad as soon as possible. They may have their faults, but provide a level of experience that is going to be vital if we are not to fall badly this year.

Just shows the gulf between the Championship and L1 once again 3 of the bottom 4 are the promoted sides and conversely the top 2 are the teams that came down last year.

Gaps between the divisions are getting bigger and bigger

Notice two relegated clubs in top 2 last season the same most of season .... relegated clubs are starting to realise that by keeping squad together far better chance get promoted wba Fulham both kept squad and enhanced it expect them to be top 2 come end season!

Cardiff City manager Mick McCarthy: "They’re going to play like Fulham did. They’ve still got players form when they were in the PL. They’ve got some good players and a good manager.

"You’ve got to respect their level of quality. It’s been a tough week for the lads. We didn’t get in until 2am the other day, so it’s about recovery. But we’ll be alright."

Bournemouth manager Scott Parker: "They are a very, very big side and play to that, use that as a massive factor in terms of what they try and do.

"As always we’ll come up with the best way to deal with that and how we deal with that in terms of set plays, lines, whatever that may be.

Match facts:

Cardiff are looking to record consecutive league wins over Bournemouth for the first time since winning against them in February 1939 and September 1946.

Bournemouth have only won two of their 18 away league games against Cardiff City (D7 L9), winning in October 1985 and March 2000, both times in the third tier of English football.

Cardiff haven’t kept a clean sheet in any of their last seven home league games, with the Bluebirds last conceding in more consecutively between April and November 2016 (11 games).

Bournemouth are one of two sides without defeat in the Championship this season (along with West Brom), with the Cherries scoring at least twice in six of their seven games so far.

Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke has been involved in six goals in his last six league games, scoring five and assisting one.

Moore is the only player with any quality in that team

Bournemouth are starting to settle now.

Anthony does well go round Phillips but is too wide to get a shot away. Plays it across goal but a combination of Flint and Nelson is enough to turn it behind.

Moments later, Christie tries his luck from the edge of the box, but his low shot is well gathered.

Bournemouth looking more dangerous with the ball. One we get the ball into the area we seem to fizzle out with nobody looking dangerous.

Christie cuts inside on his left foot on the edge of the area and fires low.

Looked like he'd initially put it wide, but seems Phillips got a touch.

Corner comes to nothing and Cardiff look to break, but Harris is chopped down by Christie.

Cahill then bumps into Vaulks, knocking him to the floor. Nothing malicious, but it nevertheless sparks a bit of handbags.

Christie booked.

Travers sends a kick straight to Moore just outside the box.

He takes a touch to try and get away from his man before driving a low ball into the arms of the Cherries keeper.

Bit of play from Brown then when he failed to control the ball and booted it long on the volley.

Whichever way he was facing he would have done that.
