“ 681 Fans “

Mon Sep 06, 2021 8:34 pm

Southend’s attendance was 6,036 with 681 travelling from Wrexham last Saturday.

I have to say 17 yrs now for little Wrexham in Non league and they take away support of nearly 700 fans on a 9hr round trip away to Southend :thumbright:

As many know I study attendances big time and have done for 40 odd yrs

Wrexham for years now have been taking great away support in the non league.

Brilliant away support for what is a horrible journey for them, even worse than the journey we'd have there.

Not sure we'd even take that many to Southend at the moment.

Over 13,000 at Bolton v Burton tonight as well, for a League One game on a Monday night at 8pm and live on Sky. That's a good crowd.

Home support pretty good too considering Southend are now national league. Always remember going to a paticularly seedy pub in Southend with some Cardiff fans and one of my mates told me his ex girlfriend used to work there. I said I didn't know his ex girlfriend was a barmaid he said she wasn't she had worked a a stripper there. Most of the patrons seemed to have tattos of spiders webs on their necks. It was one of those pubs where a load of Cardiff fans actually improved the tone of the place.

The Hollywood factor is playing it's part. Haven't they had a massive jump in season ticket holders aswell? Maybe towards 6k?
Would be a massive boost for them to get promoted aswell.

Their away support in Non league had always been very good.

That’s brilliant Ned,

Years of struggling, see sky tv and a Monday night not a problem for the real football fans :thumbright: :thumbright:

I live in Plymouth and I have to say their home attendances are not great but they definitely travel in numbers often to far flung places.
Having said that the city population is close to 300k and they have a massive catchment area in most of Devon and Cornwall.
