RONALDO SHIRT SALES BREAK RECORDS
Sales for Cristiano Ronaldo's Manchester United shirt broke the record as the highest for a day on a single sports merchandise site outside North America.
It only took four hours after confirmation Ronaldo would once again wear the No 7 at Man Utd. The first hour alone bettered the best ever full day of global sales for Utd's online store.
Across the Fanatics network - who run Man Utd's online store - Ronaldo became the biggest selling player ever in the 24 hours following a transfer to a new club, leading Lionel Messi (to PSG), Bryce Harper (to Philadelphia Phillies), Tom Brady (to Tampa Bay Buccaneers) and LeBron James (to LA Lakers).

I'm not surprised.
Apart from possibly LeBron James, he's the most well-known sportsman who is still playing across the world.
It creates a huge marketing opportunity and they've probably already covered his £18m (including add ons) transfer fee.

Probably paid already his transfer fee.

Incredible numbers. Expect Ronaldo will be making as much coin out of it as Man Utd mind.

Doesn't seem right to me, never heard of a shirt sponsor getting money from shirt sales.

can't remember if it was nike or adidas, but they offer a much larger "guaranteed fee" but then get the cash from shirt sales.
